Sinken Frequenzen in den Infraschallbereich unter 20 Hz, werden sie vom Menschen nicht mehr als Töne gehört, sondern als Vibrationen wahrgenommen. Auch bei besonders hohen Frequenzen geht die Wahrnehmung über den eigentlichen Gehörsinn hinaus. Zusätzlich dazu besteht im menschlichen Organismus die Möglichkeit, bei der Verarbeitung eintreffender Schallschwingungen Verfälschungen zu erzeugen. Das Leipziger Label und Musikkollektiv PNEUMA-DOR versucht mit CONTURBO I das Ineinanderwirken von physischer Erschütterung und auditiver Wahrnehmung zu durchleuchten. Folgende Künstler bieten dabei ihre musikalische Unterstützung:

ROBERTO CRIPPA erkundet mittels seines musikalischen Schaffens die Reaktion physischer Körper auf architektonische Akustik. Sein 2014 auf We Can Elude Control, dem Label von Emptyset’s Paul Purgas, veröffentlichtes Debut „Reverse“ bewältigt es auf herausragende Weise, organische Sounds mit elektronisch erschaffener Atmosphäre zu verschmelzen und die Zuhörer in einen Zustand von seltsam-düsterer Hypnagogie zu versetzen.
NADJA, das seit 2003 existierende Duo bestehend aus Aidan Baker und Leah Buckareff, steht seit Jahren für das faszinierend gelungene Wagnis, Ambient mit zahlreichen Spielformen des Metal und Noise zu verbinden und vermeintlichen Gitarrenlärm in erdrückende Soundberge zu verwandeln. Ihren unbändigen Drang zum (Sound)Experiment verdeutlichen exorbitant viele Releases mit durchgehend hoher Qualität.

An der Schnittstelle zur tanzbaren elektronischen Musik arbeitet das Berliner Post-Techno Projekt KETEV. Mittels eines Spulentonbandgeräts entstehen organisch dröhnende Gewebe über böse stampfenden und sich langsam verschiebenden Rhytmen.

Während RANDOM CANOE INSPECTION an eben dieser von Ketev bearbeiteten Schnittstelle verweilt und sich den abstrakten Seiten düsteren Technos widmet, bleibt es an IFZ’s PERM, pneuma-dor Mitbegründer BLACK NAKHUR und apathy’s THNTS diese Nacht der allumfassenden Erschütterung in ein durch Tanz und Ekstase bedingtes Beben eurer Körper zu verwandeln.

WEorUS has long been synonymous with forward-thinking electronic music, and their upcoming vinyl release further cements their reputation for sonic innovation. Featuring four distinct tracks from Anushka, Dragosh, Fabrizio Siano and Kaitaro, this record presents a nuanced exploration of groove, minimalism, and jazz-infused experimentation.
The release opens with Anushka’s “LVOE” a track that radiates warmth and rhythmic fluidity. Built upon a foundation of deep grooves and hypnotic layers, it embraces organic textures that evolve subtly throughout the arrangement. Expect an inviting bassline, shimmering synth work, and a rhythmic interplay that beckons dance floors into motion.
Dragosh delivers “Lampone” a groovy minimal cut that balances intricate percussive elements with a refined sense of space. There’s an air of elegance in the way this track unfolds—tight drum programming meets delicate sound design, resulting in an immersive experience that feels both intimate and expansive. A staple for selectors who appreciate understated yet compelling compositions.
Fabrizio Siano’s “What is Jazz” a contemporary minimal jazz experiment that defies conventional genre boundaries. Jazz-inflected chords weave through delicate electronic structures, resulting in a fusion that feels both nostalgic and futurist. A celebration of improvisation and groove, this track adds a sophisticated touch to the vinyl.
Dark, introspective, yet strangely hypnotic, Kaitaro’s “Nightmare” introduces a deep minimal aesthetic that veers toward atmospheric intensity. Layers build with eerie precision, each element strategically placed to create an evolving soundscape that feels cinematic yet firmly rooted in club dynamics. This is minimal at its finest—moody, unpredictable, and meticulously crafted.

That night, time seemed to dissolve into layers of texture and pulse. Barac didn’t arrive to impose a statement he whispered it. From the very first crossing of frequencies, the set unfolded like an invisible architecture in which every element served a precise purpose. Deep basslines, never intrusive, breathed naturally while the mid range intertwined into hypnotic, almost organic patterns, shaping a narrative that moved without haste yet with clear direction. There were no obvious peaks or easy concessions; the tension was sustained through detail, micro variation, and that distinctly personal way of making the groove felt more than heard.

Barac’s magic lies in his ability to read the space and turn it into another instrument. Each transition was a minimal yet decisive gesture, where silence carried as much weight as sound. Percussion emerged and faded like shadows, synthesizers floated with an almost tactile quality, and repetition never slipped into the obvious it mutated, refined itself, and grew deeper. It was an introspective, elegant journey, marked by a restrained sensuality that invited closed eyes and surrender to the set’s internal logic.

On that same frequency, a:ritmi:a found its perfect reflection. The curation, the space, and the energy of the crowd operated as a finely tuned ecosystem for this kind of sonic ritual, where what matters is not immediate impact but sustained connection. The synergy was complete: a silent dialogue between artist and community, where every bar reinforced the feeling of witnessing something unrepeatable. More than a session, it was a shared state a night when minimalism became a common language and the club, for a few hours, breathed at Barac’s exact rhythm.

the infamous romanian dj and producer - herck, joins sense. for the fourth episode of our invitational mix series, a live recording from sublime night in oradea, romania.

herck was born in romania in 1990, and from a young age, he was drawn to the world of music.

after finishing school, herck decided to pursue his passion for music full-time, and he started playing at local clubs and parties. his unique blend of deep, minimal techno and house music quickly caught the attention of fans and fellow djs alike, and he soon became a fixture on the romanian club scene.

in 2011, herck released his first ep, which was met with critical acclaim and helped to establish him as a rising star in the underground dance music scene. over the next few years, he continued to release music on a variety of labels, showcasing his distinctive sound and gaining a dedicated following of fans around the world.

herck's dj sets are known for their deep, hypnotic grooves and intricate mixing, which keep the dance floor moving all night long. he has played at some of the biggest clubs and festivals in europe, and his music has been played by some of the most respected djs in the world.

today, herck is regarded as one of the most exciting and innovative djs and producers in the underground dance music scene, and his career shows no signs of slowing down. with his talent, dedication, and passion for music, it's clear that herck is a name to watch in the years to come.
