Recorded in 2007. Crude samples from Nina Simone's 'Baltimore' and Desmond Dekker & The Aces 'It Mek' mesh uneasily with a single lyric drone of "All these things and more will come to you and go". A melancholic but righteous ghost lament for all the cities and communities of the world left to just die. This is a modern protest music projected up through the past. Dedicated to Detroit.

This recording of W.S. Merwin reading his poem 'The Last One', taken from his anthology 'The Lice' (1977 copyright W.S. Merwin), seems to exist nowhere on the internet for others to hear, and, to be honest, I can't quite remember how I came by it. His reading is as dark and electric as the poem itself.
