Owase-bushi" has been sung since ancient times.
According to legend, the Sanada clan, defeated on the side of Toyotomi in the "Osaka Summer Campaign" of 1615, fell in tears to "Owase" on the Kishu Road, where they sang "Nasyomarenu, nasyomarenu, nasyoni-naru mimo wo mo mo ya" (Let me be your body to become your soul), which is said to be the beginning of "Owase-bushi".
The first song sung by the Sanada clan was called "Nasyoma-bushi," but it was recorded in Osaka in 1925 and introduced as "Owase-bushi" for the first time. Thereafter, the number of lyrics was increased by famous composers such as Eiji Yoshikawa and Amejo Noguchi.
In addition, the first master Isae Bando choreographed and created the Owase-bushi as we know it today.
In 1954, the song won third place at a national folk song contest, and has since been sung as a representative folk song of Mie Prefecture.
