Claptone releases ‘Queen of Ice (Nora En Pure Remix’). Continuing the run of outstanding collaborations, ‘Queen of Ice’ now sees the enigmatic artist work with the Canadian pop band Dizzy, remixed by the undisputed Queen of deep house Nora En Pure. The release is set for January 7th via Different Recordings. 

It's the seventh single release from the forthcoming 'Closer', Claptone’s third studio album, which is co-produced by Stuart Price (Dua Lipa, The Killers, Madonna). Nora En Pure treats the original with the utmost respect and delivers a beautiful, deep alternative.

Dizzy is a dream pop project, fronted by Katie Munshaw and based out of Canada. The critically acclaimed Dizzy project has become known for its warm and open-hearted songwriting, which has drawn praise from the likes of Stereogum, NME, Dork, Coup de Main, Line of Best Fit, BBC, and NPR and accolades such a JUNO Award for Alternative Album of the Year.

The announcement of ‘Queen of Ice’ follows the previous album single releases of ‘Right Into You’, ‘Just A Ghost feat Seal’, ‘Zero’, ‘My Night’ feat. APRE and ‘Wake Up’ feat James Vincent McMorrow and ‘Golden’ feat Two Another - all unveiled throughout 2021 leading into the release of 'Closer' in late November 2021.

Anjunabeats release anamē’s latest single ‘Influencer’ with BLR and Robbie Rise on June 17.

You know you’re onto something when DJs sprint to the booth to find out what track you’re playing. With “Influencer,” anamē take one more step toward world dance floor domination.

anamē is the new alias from Marcus Schössow (previously one-half of gardenstate) and Thomas Sägstad. Schössow and Sagstad have known each other a long time: they came up together in the early 2000s, riding the wave of Scandinavia’s underground along with Swedish House Mafia and Tiësto. Recently, Schössow’s album with gardenstate hit nearly 8 million streams on Spotify and #2 in the iTunes US charts. But throughout their successful solo careers, the pair remained close friends. 

‘Influencer’ is a throwback house track, reminiscent of those summer anthems that dominated Ibiza seasons in the early 2010s. Made in collaboration with singer, songwriter, producer and party starter Robbie Rise and Netherlands-based DJ and producer Leon Bolier (aka BLR), ‘Influencer’ is anamē’s second release on Anjunabeats. It follows their long-awaited collaboration with Above & Beyond, “Gratitude”, which gained support from Armin van Buuren, Andrew Rayel, Ferry Corsten and Cosmic Gate.



“‘Influencer’ came out of nowhere,” anamē explains. “We put together a combination of ideas with Leon and Robbie over a few days, and perhaps that’s the magic of it – we kept it simple. Every time we play it live the floor explodes and DJs come running like maniacs to the booth to see what we’re playing.”

anamē recently supported Above & Beyond at their recent sold-out Gashouder shows in Amsterdam and Anjunabeats’ label showcase in Poland’s Gliwice Arena. anamē will also support Above & Beyond at their Group Therapy Weekender London festival on September 10 and 11 at Dockyards, tickets are on sale now (https://aboveandbeyond.nu/gtwlondon).

On the A-side of the Artist with the Joker mask presents the track "Knocking Birds". The high-tech minimal, as Brejcha describes his music himself, comes along a little dark. Sporadic bell ringing and spherical passages are combined and the beats evoke the idea of knocking birds. The B-side „LSD-Waterpipe“ begins with a increased heart rate, which harmonizes perfectly with the bush drums.
