Got a bit inspired by this year's Ibiza opening parties, so decided to put my Trance Wax twist on the island's classic tracks in this second instalment of Trance DNB mix!

Long standing NTS DJ's and curators Jack Rollo and Elaine Tierney, commonly known as Time Is Away, step up next for the 47th edition of the Off The Record mix series. Having been recognised for their vast knowledge of folk, esoteric and eclectic sounds which is displayed in their curated compilations for labels like A Colourful Storm and Efficient Space - they have also been known to dig deep into more clubbier sounds like house, rare leftfield and DIY electronics. For their mix Jack and Elaine focus more on the latter but bringing tracks that would pay homage to more melodic sounds. We had a brief chat with Time Is Away about the mix and what they have coming up.

I love playing music set to visuals. Usually it's set to my video collaborations for my live shows, but this time I got to DJ amongst Christopher Bauder's light installation at Dark Matter in Berlin to create an audio-visual conversation. 

The audience in Berlin is amazing too, being the magnet for electronic music people that it is, and not being one of the historic clubs there with their specific musical identity to integrate with, this was anything goes and just feeding on the energy in the room. And there was a lot of energy in the room, as you can hear in the mix. 

I let loose pretty much…. It’s a club set, how I'm into club sets, at least. With some new unheard things in there and lots of old favourites from over the years.

Vent Tokyo is one of the best sounding rooms I know of. So it was a special experience playing there for 2 nights, right up close with everyone in an intimate space, getting intense with the full body bass experience. Hopefully some of the vibes come through in the recording.
