CLOSER TO MINE

Sound of the rain recorded at Loch Achilty, Highland.  3 October, 2020.

Two MKH8040 mics in ORTF were positioned under a rain shield, facing an arm of the loch and some broad-leafed trees.

This is my musical response to the haiku by Zhang Zhihe:

slanting rain,
gentle breeze,
no need to return home

This piece is dedicated to my friend Fernando who can not travel home this year.
