An interpretive video project. &nbsp;The idea is to take a long segment of video, something abstract and nondescript and add a sound track. &nbsp;The result is an ambient drone, that mumbles along with the content that appears on the screen. &nbsp;Due to the somewhat constant speed of travel the video was taken at there is some sense of timing to some of the elements, other elements are totally random. &nbsp;

The Colorado Project Part 1

An interpretive video project.  The idea is to take a long segment of video, something abstract and nondescript and add a sound track.  The result is an ambient drone, that mumbles along with the content that appears on the screen.  Boats, wake, seagulls, waves all have unique audio triggering qualities, non of these triggers are automated, the tracks are laid manually.

The Colorado Project Part 2

Live single track recording.  Recorded then torn down, never to be replicated.  All sequencing, sounds and sound processing on a modular synth (clock tracked from an octatrack).  Recorded into a hand held field recorder. No computer used anywhere (other than this upload)

Synth Modules of Note:

- All drums from Vermona DRM1 Mk3
- Polivoks filter pinged for the "electrical" sounding blips and blops.
- repetitive backing bass from Monotron-e module
- clock magic from both halves of the amazing 4ms PEG, and RCD.
- Sequencing from 3 directions of the Tip-top z-8000

Single pass live recording, using all modular synthesizer, single patch.  The patch has now been taken apart, never to be repeated.

Track consists of basic drums triggered via a Doepfer A-152 using the digital out with a slewed CV track from the Z8000 sequencer. Pingable Envelope Generator as the main clock management, feeding RCD and SCM for variations.  Drums are from the Vermona DRM1.  Bass into Polivoks VCF, snare into Plague Bearer.  Couple of rows of the Z8000 sequencer feeding CV sequence into Tabularrosa using AK Human voice waves into Z8000 controlled F/A of Doepfer Vactoral Low Pass gate.

Doepfer A-118 white noise into the Monotron-e VCF.  Slightly modulated by the last row of the Z8000.

There are sections where my fading in and out of the tracks is awful - but it's live and this is part of the rough nature of this project.  I need to look into a more precise method of track muting.

Quick prototype proof of concept for an audio sculpture I'm working on. This version is 8 feet of picture wire strung tight between two beams in the studio with a bass guitar pickup somewhere around the middle. Then pluck, slowly. This version has considerable reverb applied and some time stretch (only a little). The final project should be 10-12 feet long, outside in the elements and rely on the wind for "activation" and hopefully will stream live online, but a long long way to go.

8-9-10 (Giant Bass)

Vintage Roland Rhythm Arranger with the audio split into two halves.

1st: Audio into plague bearer, out of plague bearer into another one, out of 2nd one into the general VCA+Filter (SY02).

2nd: audio into right hand CV in on the R54, audio out into a Polivoks filter, audio out of the bottom right into the VCA+Filter.

Silent Way LFO inverted going into high CV on 2nd Plague Bearer, and non inverted into the polivoks filter cut off.

Some live tweaking with high and low on both plague bearers, on polivoks filter and on general sy02 filter for intro and outro.

Rolland Rhythm Arranger does alternate beats and allows for cross fading the high beats and low beats.  The beat being played is the basic Cha-Cha, in the middle I punch the Bossa Nova as well, which is when it gets the 'crunchy' bits.

I've changed the direction of this account recently, and in fact the way I make music.  I no longer use a computer for any of my music production.  Instead I have set myself a challenge to spend a year making music entirely with no computer (except for uploading to soundcloud).  All of my tracks that are of the format YEAR-MONTH-DAY are created entirely using a modular synthesizer, a vermona drm1 drum synth, a couple of pieces of elektron kit and a series of old battered drum machines, synths and hacked up pieces of musical oddity.  All of these tracks will be single pass, then the modular patch and setup will be torn down.  If the recording fails or has errors, so be it.  These tracks represent a snap shot of one person having fun with the gear he has around him.  I hope you enjoy it.
