Agua es Vida

I wrote the verses & chorus in May 2018 after one morning, high on love-drugs after falling in weekend-love at a festival, I cracked an egg into the compost bin and proceeded to put the shells in the frying pan. Yes yes, I was in total La La love land. But as can be expected from a festival love affair, just a few weeks later the castles I'd built in my imagination started to crumble and turn into compost themselves. And from that compost grew the bittersweet bridge to complete the song's story. 

So here's a bittersweet love song dedicated to everyone out there who falls in love too easily or lets their imaginations get the better of them from time to time. 

The first release with my Sarabande sisters Shiloh Parkerson & Hannah Levy's gorgeous voices intermingling with mine - YAY!

Factoid. I wrote the opening melody as part of my "Melody-a-Day Mission" for the month of May 2017. This one was inspired by "Dream" by Everly Brothers.

January 5, 2013. I saw The Soft White Sixties & Whiskerman play last night and was thoroughly inspired to write some kind of r&b/pop/doo-wop something-something to which someone someday could dance sexy to. I got home at 2am from Oakland and enjoyed a caffeine-dance-and-flirting fueled writing session in which these words and a whole bunch of others surfaced...
