BACKSTORY
My track 'Save Changes' is about something I went through about a year ago. I had been in a pretty low spot mentally and spiritually. About 6 months before I finished this song, I went through a pretty hard break up with a girl that I was together with for 7 years. When all of that happened, I had practically no focus on writing music, working, making money or anything like that. I shut down completely and just became a robot going through motions at a pizza restaurant in Austin I was working at the time. 

Here's the thing about me. I live completely through my music. Everything I do has this musical journey in mind. I'm actually a hopeless romantic, which in the end, was a characteristic that ended crippling me into this space of confusion, heartbreak, fear, and frustration that shaped me into who I am to this day. 

Writing and performing music is a process that's very personal to me. I've been doing music my entire life and I found myself at a point where I was letting other people's choices determine my ability to do something I KNEW that I could do. There came a point where I could just not come up with the last little parts to complete this track for months. 

I became so twisted up that I didn't really write any music for almost 7 months. I was working on this song and a couple others for close to 5 months, for some reason I just couldn't get this specific track to come together. 

Eventually I was actually at the point of deleting whole project entirely. I couldn't get it. I couldn't focus, and I couldn't think about anything but trying to distract myself from how I felt. I go to delete the project in Ableton once I gave up. I click the close button and the computer asked 'Would you like to save your changes?'

I stopped and thought again for a second and decided not to delete the project and finish what this song had become for me. I didn't have a name for the track until that moment. I didn't delete the project, and I actually finished the song completely 2 weeks later. And to this day, I believe THAT day was the day I actually started to get better and move forward. I'm glad I could share this message with anyone who was kind enough to read this. Thank you for the support, and if you're itching for success, keep scratching.
