Where the average DJ might boast that they ‘smashed it’ at the weekend, MadLou prefers to talk in more demonstrative terms, defining his music as ‘powerful, elegant, sometimes dark, never industrial, never commercial. It always makes you feel something.’ Having studied psychology, MadLou is an expert at reading the room’s energy and connecting with crowds, With a very contagious passionate energy while on and off decks creating quite an emotional response with his sets.
His sound intensely inspired by the German school of new wave techno producers like Stephan Bodzin, Ruede Hagelstein and Madmotormiguel, he’s taken his production to the next level. An underground star in his native Egypt, MadLou broke globally in 2016 thanks to stand out sets at the Club Cinema and Sugar Factory in Amsterdam During ADE and the Iconic techno waterhole Rutter Butzke in Berlin, sharing Decks with Names such Audio Jack, Monolink,Kevin Knapp, Dubspeeka, Atish, Satori, Third Son, Pillow Talk and Satoshi Tomiie and many more, Now based in Dubai, where he’s become a pivotal member of the city’s growing club scene Getting the attention of all sorts on national media, MadLou is an established name in the Middle East and has confirmed dates in London, Iceland, Switzerland, America, Australia, Panama and Morocco, Lebanon and Mexico.

A clued up clubber from a young age hooked on house music’s soul the first time he heard the kick/clap combo, he’s still a dancer at heart, imagining how he’d react to his sets when he’s stood behind the decks. After playing every club worth their disco lights in Egypt, he was one of a select few asked to play the prestigious Earth Hour set at the Earthdance festival in 2013. Main stage sets at the Corona festival in Jordan, Bedouin Tech and the closing slot at ADE followed, as well two bookings at Burning Man 2017. The region’s media have been quick to pick up on his success, with countless magazines and blogs featuring the talented music maker in the past year, Hype Magazine the latest to sing his praises.
Still fiercely underground, MadLou’s captivating mix of house and techno has caught the attention of industry names like Guy J, Behrouz and Maceo Plex, and some serious labels including Defected, Diynamic & Do not sit on my furniture.
Bunkered down in his studio – often listening to the likes of Beethoven and Voltier to clear his mind – he set about creating his own electronic live act, OfMan&Wolf, a loose-limbed collective that bring his absorbing genre-crossing music to life. Their live shows in Dubai, Amsterdam, Serbia, Paris, Belgium and Berlin have been critically acclaimed, bringing a classical edge to a new wave techno sound, creating emotive, freeform music that defies categorizations.
