Recorded live and unedited on a gloriously sunny Sunday in November 2014 in my backyard while drinking many beers, and a couple of times it shows! No planning - just spontaneous love for the retro sounds that have been making me move recently. Got a bit of everything in here - dark, synth, and retrowave, outrun, electro, italo-disco and a couple of remixes of classics.

Radio Pure Gently - Synthetix Sundays - Week 48 - 31 - 05 - 2015 - Part 2

Recorded live and unedited on Saturday 6 June 2015. This is the first part in a series of hour long mixes over the Southern Hemispherical Wintertime to warm you up with some beautiful sounds - and each one will up the tempo to help you thaw for Spring! For the Northern Hemisphere folks, you can use it to maintain your temperature.

I do a little bit of mood hopping here, starting off with some classic retrowave, moving into some 80's influenced funkiness, followed by some moody darker tunes before turning up the heat with some italo and finishing off with some nu-disco. It's pretty consistent with my style of warm-up sets at Laser Highway, minor imperfections included, and I wanted to play some jams I haven't got around to yet. Note: While recording I thought there was some distortion on the kick drums on Sellorekt/LA Dreams' Limousines and Stilettos, but listening back they appeared to be gone. YMMV.

I played for a fairly sizable crowd that for the most part were not experienced in retro electronic music, and were more familiar with big room electro, house and techno, so I sprinkled some choice cuts among some certifiable synth-heavy floor fillers before finishing off the set with some darkness. Andy, Gee Lowe, Cosmo Cocktail and the bar were exceptionally welcoming and poured jager down my gullet at one point!
