The title refers to the double movement involved in lifting a stone. Dry Tears is the latest release from the Bruto Industries label and their first release in 12" format. On this occasion, xKukum, one of the founding members of the label, presents his first EP.

The record, which was recorded in late 2020, traces an emotional journey from the distortion of reality caused by melancholy to the determination to move away from it. The EP consists of four original tracks that guide the listener through this journey, with influences from EBM, Dark Wave, Techno, and more. On side A, we find more introspective and melodic tracks, while side B offers sounds more focused on the dance floor. As a special addition, Colombian artist Filmmaker contributes a remix of the track "No More Dramas," complementing the atmosphere of the album with his characteristic powerful sound.

Like previous releases from the label, this work has been mastered by Dan Böhler, who has provided the EP with a sound quality that will not disappoint genre lovers. The artwork is done by Marcos Abella, who completes the concept with an imagery influenced by manga and cyberpunk aesthetics.

Combustion is a hard-hitting raw EBM track created to put fire on the dancefloors. Mascarpone has taken his influences and crafted a homage to the power of the synthesizer, especially the Korg Monopoly, which is the main bassline sound we can hear.

For the occassion, Commuter return with more energy than ever, creating a cold and clinical remix suitable for dancefloors at any stage of the night.

Vondkreistan is also part of the EP, taking us with his remix for a journey through Kraftwerkian sounds and dark electro basslines that won't let you go.

Moreover, Saigg created a killer remix with his unique darky and groovy basslines, made for those looking for the adrenaline on the dancefloor.

Finally, Sisyphe made a bonus track, to finish the release with a more peacefull and melancholic feeling, taking you to places were fire consumed everything.

As fire is a big thematic for this EP, all the bandcamp royalties will go to the GNSA, a french ONG that protects trees from global warming and human activites.

I am breathing electronic music since late 70s and that's over 45 years now. From Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Yazoo, Alphaville, Men without Hats, Nitzer Ebb, Die Krupps, Front 242, Anne Clark, Camouflage, Gary Numan, OMD, Apopytygma Berzerk and even the Commodore 64 demo & break dance scene to more contemporary Electronic music artists, I witnessed the evolution of Electronic music, which basically means I am an old fart and consider myself an authority in this music genre 😵 Currently I listen DnB almost exclusively. But I do not like to restrict myself at all, enjoying flavors like Electronica, Trance, Psytrance, Tech House, Dubstep, Deep House, Future Pop, Trap, Techno, UK Bass and of course EBM/Industrial as well.

What you will find in my likes and playlists is the top of the crop in Electronic Music, I will  absolutely not list any bullshit. A track I have not listed might be just that: Bullshit, just mediocre or an artistic gem which I haven't discovered yet.
