MADRA is an electronic music artist living in Byron Bay, Australia. His music is a meld of an old school hiphop foundation with futuristic and often Dystopian visions. Dark, brooding bass, juxtaposed with ‘80s-reminiscent synth pads, obscure sampling and field recordings lays the landscape of his experimental, genre-warping style. Living and going to high school in California instilled a forever-love of the West Coast Hiphop flavour, which has since been spiked generously with the nostalgic beauty of Boards of Canada, the experimental, eccentric genius of Aphex Twin, the groundbreaking artistry of Mr Oizo, and more modernly with boundary-pushing tastemakers the likes of EPROM, Ivy Lab, Flume, Bleep Bloop and G. Jones, to mention a few.
