Once I met a king
Crown and everything
Very regal
I’d stay regal
Not sure where he reigned
But I can’t complain
Never asked him
Didn’t ask him

Well my mind went blank
But I knew to thank
The king so gracious
Very gracious
One day on the town
The king was looking down
Asked his highness
His royal highness
Told me he was without
His wallet when he went out
Could I maybe cover him
I said, sure, no doubt
The liar king!

I was not fooled
But I still played along
It’s all so harmless
How could things go wrong?
