Drum & Bass nightlife operation turned label, 'Major League DNB' offers their third outing in a string of thoroughly curated releases. This time around international twosome 'Zombie Cats' make their re-appearance on the Holland based imprint. The 3rd installment 'Portal EP' in the label series opens up with a rework of 'Portal' by household 'Shogun Audio' name 'Joe Ford'. The opening track is a somewhat brutal effort that showcases 'Joe Ford's' signature high energy approach whilst cleverly re-assembling the main elements of the original. The original version of 'Portal' kicks in straight after the rework. The title track of the EP is actually a collaboration between Zombie Cats and Berlin Based 'Safra'. Whilst the rework is somewhat of a frenzy, the original effort proves to be a little more on the technoid side of things. 'Little Monsters' is not only the closing down track but also a bonafide dancefloor destroyer.

Mechanical beings woven within a delicate web of survival, spun into life from the sprawling hierarchical mechanism of the planet itself. In the dimly lit depths of one such level, subtle core alignment shifts spark their reaction, vents rerouting the intense heat through systems long untouched, spreading its energy across ancient precipitation tanks. Slow tendrils of steam curl upwards in the darkness, growing in intensity… feeding life into the machines of this place, setting the gears to their purpose. Lights flicker into being, and with them the metal orchids flourish, casting their alluring glow throughout the level. Life stirs in the fresh heat of the moment, the whirring of a thousand intricate mechanisms returning to life as wing films push against the air… every gear’s movement with a single purpose – to feed.
 
EATBRAIN presents rapidly rising Ukrainian producer NICKBEE with his GEARS EP, also featuring the eerie and alluring vocals of JOANNA SYZE. With these 4 delicately balanced and keenly crafted slices of neurofunk, Nickbee displays a refined sense of structure and minimalism, whilst delivering a powerful vibe for the dance. Half of the EP drips with dystopian spirit, bristling with razor sharp edges softened in NOWHERE TO RUN and WE FIGHT by Syze’s ethereal and alien voice. The Gears EP retains a sense of tight urgency and patient precision throughout, with GEAR’s tilted syncopation providing a light-footed and paranoid pace, while TOGETHER WITH FUTURE delivers a hulking stepper that packs a weighty punch.

Hospital Records’ São Paulo discovery Urbandawn is a serious contender. After releasing two popular EPs with the label and spending several months determined in the studio his debut album ‘Gothenburg Cluster’ is ready.

Dispatch Recordings proudly present ‘Dreamland’ – the 2nd solo album from Bristol based DLR.

Continuing where his 2015 debut ‘Seeing Sounds’ left off, ‘Dreamland’ is an album concept that reflects on the world today. Encouraging people to challenge the barriers and comfort zones we blissfully exist within, DLR seeks to resist the inadequate reality we are sleepwalking into; an inherently greed based system, where numbers govern art and culture, whilst popularity determines the success of social causes, as issues are picked up and dropped in the blink of an eye.

Musically, the album is honest, straight up and sound design focused, as DLR pays homage to the older styles of DnB, building on the genre’s core principles, writing his own chapter in Bristol’s long running heritage. A statement of intent towards soul and groove driven music, each track is personified by simple ideas meticulously arranged, as DLR prioritises the raw elements to enhance the groove and sub bass, allowing each aspect enough space to breathe and develop.

Note: This particular track will only be made available via our limited run of Dropcards and on the double pack full vinyl release. It won't be made available to download via usual outlets as part of the digital version of the album.
