This is when my VGM started to get a lot better, IMO. I drew heavily from the Ratchet and Clank game series for inspiration on this and later tracks. When I say it's VGM, it's styled that way but it wasn't part of any game's soundtrack. Some people have told me this song has some Jak and Daxter vibes too. Anyways, hope you enjoy!

The first in my Rescored series and the first of the Jak and Daxter tracks I intend to remake. This one was a blast to make! 

What's neat about how Josh Mancell scored the Jak games is that he made the music contextual; certain layers of instruments would only play if you were doing certain things or by certain people, something I attempted to retain in this version.

Perhaps - if you listen closely - you'll hear the same marimba that plays by Samos' hut and Keira's workshop, the tuba of the Mayor, the flute of the Bird Lady, or the shamisen of the Farmer.

There are other instruments for other villagers in here as well, all playing along as Sandover wakes up and gets to work. Of course, none of them are working as hard as Jak and Daxter as they run around and collect Precursor Orbs. Especially Daxter. ;)

I'm back with another remake in my Rescored series!

Like many who played the Jak and Daxter series, the first area I remember going to after Sandover Village is Sentinel Beach. It had such a calming and beautiful track to match an area just as much so, and one I found more tricky than Sandover Village to remake. 

There's just so much going on here and such a mix of instruments I never pictured mixing together before (a didgeridoo with a bassoon, marimba, and ney flute?), but they work really well! 

I hope you bob your ahead along with the beat as much as I did while putting it together. :)

Here's a hint towards the next track I intend to remake for Jak and Daxter: zoom zoom boom boom.

Track 3 of the Jak and Daxter Rescored series! This was my favorite track from the original game - the best part was always the cowbell, drums, and marimba. There's something about it that feels like a heartbeat and ticking clock to me - makes sense, if you're trying to outrace a gang of Lurkers who are setting bombs to blow up the pass around you. :D
