Maelstrom Remake - M/R Move 001

A collaboration which just could happen nowadays. Nix Nihils dark and dramatic but driving sound met Sojourns lyrics and vocals. Not in real life, just online, on the internet these tracks were developed; NixNihil in Kassel(D), Sojourn in Philadelphia (USA). Locally separated, but united in music.

With just few words, Sojourn tells here stories about being left, feeling lonely but keeping the head and self-conscious up. Beats and sounds, from dark to a little bit aggressive, support this attitude and provide this certain atmosphere in the given tracks.

E-Omas remix of Just Stay catches the vibe, but twists the perspective again.

When you are infected, you better get healed. Lars Rockerts two groovy tech house pieces with a dark and moody vibe cover this theme. A bassy bottom meets shiny (infected) or groany (healed) sounds on the top. Both tracks utilize a good portion of acid to drive things forward.

Christian Quast represents a more technoid and deep point of view in his remix of infected.

Have you ever rolled randomly around Dwayne„The Rock“ Johnson while a pretty little mob was rioting in your home town?
We neither. Maybe #HerrMehr did. At least he wrote two tracks about this extra- ordinary experience.
„Rolling random round the Rock“ has this kind of bassline which punches you in the stomach and leaves you asking for more while the stabby Rhodes Chords almost give a jackin and uplifting feel to the track. „Pretty little Riot“ starts with a funky old school Hip Hop vibe and a whole lot of low end just to end in a weird-ass acid like organ arpeggio. Its somersault time!

Encoding, decoding, not voice but emotions. That´s what @e-oma s electro track Vocoding is all about. Constantly evolving, from a simple rythm to a complex melodic structure, the song reveals its touching arc of tension.

Swiss tech house mastermind @MarkusKenel grabs the given spirit and combines it with a floor rocking, straight forward beat pattern.

Maelstrom Remake Shake kicks off its second release with three House grooves by @arth-goldau. All tracks share a unique groove, summer vibes and glittering Juno sounds. While The Way Back Home and Phantom Pain have a more chilled vibe, one can literally feel the arrival of a queen when the brass synth on The Arrival Of The Queen kicks in. On the remix side we have @bestemodus alumni @edherbst with a deep version of The Way Back Home and Russian Deep House wonder @lay-far for Phantom Pain.
