Grips of Chaos

I went into this one without recording a concept first. I had a vague idea of what I wanted to do, but I came up with a big chunk of this while composing. I wanted the theme for the Grips to be energetic, but I also wanted to reflect how they are supposed to be the first obstacle (not counting vanilla) the player faces. At the end I'm pretty satisfied with it.

Swamplurker's theme is going to take a bit so instead I began work on the event themes. After 2 years of making music for AA, I find it funny that this is the first time I made an event theme. Other than Swamplurker's theme taking a bit to make, there was another reason that I wanted to make this now. I've been in a state of emotional turmoil for the last week due to personal events and I felt like this was the best way to express my emotions. For this reason it didn't take me long to come up with something that made me satisfied. Who knew that being emotional about something works well with making a sad theme.

This track is dedicated to someone who will always be special.

I have been experimenting this one. I've been wanting to try composing jazz forever now and I finally had a chance with Toad. I experimented with changing time signatures and even threw some amen breaks into the mix. Overall composing this was a blast. Sure the shroom storyline has changed but Toad shall remain pure.

I'm back from my vacation with the track that started it all. It's wild to think that a small little project I made for fun 3 years ago resulted in me discovering my true calling with music. I'm truly grateful for the people who supported me throughout this journey and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Emotional stuff aside, this track was super fun to compose as it was a test how much I could improve one of my earliest works. This is the calm variant of Recondite Rhapsody.

This was one of the most fun tracks I've composed to date, as I got to experiment with interesting chord progressions. Unimush is a part of lore that wasn't really explored in old AA and I'm super excited to finally start telling its story through my music. I'll be awaiting the theories.

We're finishing off the Unimush themes with Evolution. Similarly to Adaptation, I got to experiment with interesting chord progressions with this one while also turning the intensity all the way up. With this you guys have 3 pieces of small Unimush lore to theorize with. I can say for sure that what comes next will be, quite unexpected.

Ancients Awakened: Otherworld OST - Evolution - (Theme of the Underground Unimush)

Plugin is a creative music and wellbeing project for young people in Birmingham and Coventry aged 12-25 who face barriers to music-making due to being mental health inpatients.
Plugin uses accessible music technology to develop young people’s skills and creativity. The project aims to build participants’ self-esteem, help them connect with others and encourage them to express their feelings and emotions through music. It also aims to build the skills and confidence of setting staff and emerging music leaders in providing creative music-making opportunities for young people with mental health conditions.

Plugin has been based in 4 settings across Birmingham and Coventry this year: Ardenleigh FCAMHS, The Priory Woodbourne Hospital, Birmingham Children’s Hospital’s Parkview Clinic and Cygnet Joyce Parker Hospital.
