back story:
i’ve been going to shows at The Warfield since i was 20 years old to experience countless awe-inspiring music moments. performing as the opening act for an iconic band such as Royksopp was definitely a defining moment. in preparation, i went to work, digging deep into my musical archives that would allow me to create a mood that felt appropriate for what would follow, for a venue of concertgoers, not a club or underground party, yet remain distinctly me. i curated an assortment of music and mixed it together on the fly, in the moment, for what felt right. i ended up closing my musical journey with an edit of Sylvester, a San Francisco icon who has inspired me, at an iconic venue that has also lifted me on so many occasions. as this last song played, something propelled me to dance across the stage in celebration of him, this moment, and the profound effect true house music has over you. even when djing on a stage with a sold-out crowd looking on instead of being in a dj booth, usually on the floor with all the dancers. the response was electric, all the positive messages have been incredible.. so here’s that set, in its entirety. hope you enjoy it now as much as then. thank you to all the music family for the support!

Nicoshi is a Los Angeles-based DJ. Born on the cold South Argentinian coast he found the warmth of music a guiding principle throughout his life. His parents kept him occupied with a room fully dedicated to records and cassettes, so we can say that there's no officially recorded date of his DJ career start, but it was inevitable. His passion for finding new beats and exploring underground dance music has helped him to refine his skills and develop his own unique sound, which speaks to the fiction of the moment: a crowd reaction, a dancefloor vibe, a magic light... He likes to explore different genres and experiment with the dancefloor: taking it from hypnotic trippy beats to uptempo dark sounds. In 2023 Nicoshi became Sirens resident.

I play on my home set up - sometimes I am alone and sometimes with friends are hanging with me. These are not suppose to be flawless mixes but more of raw, real moments from my studio. This mix was made in August 2024. Had a lunch meeting with a friend where we shared an inspirational conversation about music, genres and vibes when we play. Ben Annand has always had a major influence on Desert Hearts. We first met Ben at his Tropical Campout party back in 2012, and it was actually during that party that Mikey Lion & Lee Reynolds really connected for the first time. A lot of people don't know this but some of the very first Desert Hearts parties were actually collaboration events with Ben Annand called Tropical Hearts. They were raw, unpredictable, and amazing, but most importantly they were the foundation that our community would be built upon. Ben has always been a first class DJ in every sense of the word. He can play House, he can play Techno... he can pretty much play it all. This set in particular was one of our favorite sets from him. A truly classic House set from our Desert Hearts Spring Festival, this ones sure to take you back to 10am on Saturday morning. We love Ben and we know you will too! Enjoy! <3
