'We are happy to announce a new EP of Berlin duo YEAH BUT NO - THE SHADOW SELF Pt. I.  After a longer break something new is born. The newly assembled band has a declared aim: to allow its listeners a deeper understanding of music. The multilayered sound savours the melancholic spectrum; deeper and darker tones set the perfect stage for profound lyrics.

"Electronic music is our background.", Fabian says. Alex: "We linked classic song structures with distinctive, immersive sounds that open up a world for Fabian’s lyrics.“ The lyrics perfectly capture these fragile, dark emotions that move us unconsciously - may it be the loss of love, disappointment or an unhealthy, dark obsession.

The original versions of 'Perished' and 'Curse' are accompanied by remix versions from no one less than Trikk and Mathias Schober.
 
The internationally acclaimed producer and DJ Trikk - not only known for his work with Dixon & Âme’s Innervisions label, but also as a representative of the next generation of underground house music - hits the nail on the head with his interpretation of „Perished“. Keeping the melancholic mood of the original, he managed to create a super catchy and grooving 4-to-the-floor version. The remix is already being hyped since its first plays on DJ’s sets from Dixon, Mind Against, Denis Horvat, Agoria, Adriatique, Alex Niggemann & Trikk himself.

Mathias Schober is an artist with an exceptional sense of clarity and presence in his work. His reworks of 'Curse' lay the focus on the vocal and create a stripped back, spacious and dub influenced fundamental. The instrumentation eerie enough to accompany the lyrics, the groove strong enough to work on its own.
The album "The Shadow Self“ is released in several parts on DISTANT ECHOS - a new label that defines itself as a bastion of quality and a broad musical variety with leanings towards Electronica and Neo Pop. The label kicked off their journey with the debut EP from Maltese Duo KNTRL “JUST WORDS“, which was released on the 6th of August.'

Spacewalker moves on a groovy bassline that instantly sets things in motion – driving, warm, and organic. Around it unfold rhythmic elements that act like pulses: sometimes bouncing, sometimes floating, always in dialogue with the depth of the groove.
The pads open vast spaces, as if each bar reveals a new horizon. The interplay between groove and atmosphere creates a pull that pushes forward while at the same time carrying you into the distance.
Spacewalker is a journey in flow: tangible through the bassline, yet carried by a lightness that turns the gaze both inward and outward.

Having enjoyed the swell of love for their 'Absent Without Thoughts' track, from the All Day I Dream 'Summer Sampler', label boss Lee Burridge once again teams up with Lost Desert for a new release on Get
Weird.
Aimed squarely at the dancefloor, their new three track salvo opens with the title cut 'K Bug'. 
A steam train of a track it slowly gathers pace as it moves forward. It's chugging groove and fat bassline have been whipping crowds into frenzies when played by the pair and now its ready to be unleashed for all.
Backing it up is 'Hinduma'. A track that's known to cause the mouth to contort when mouthing out the wonky synth line. Resistance is futile.
Closing out the EP is 'Reply To Sender’, a slow burner with a trippy ethnic melody and a drop that goes all mystical.

UNER’s label Solar Distance has a melodic sound that’s both eloquent and stylish. Incorporating a blend of dancefloor focused grooves with atmospheric textures, its new release is from Spanish artist Mark Alow.

Based in Alicante, Mark Alow joins the Solar Distance family following a recent EP on Sabo’s label Sol selects, plus appearances on other labels including Little Helpers, Baile Musik, Akbal Music and Innocent Music.

In 2016, leading Spanish publication Vicious Magazine listed one of Mark Alow’s tracks as being amongst the best released that year, which ranked alongside the likes of Maceo Plex and Steve Lawler, since then his reputation has continued to grow. 

The three original tracks on this release showcase Mark Alow’s sophisticated sound that in the words of his artist biography “moves seamlessly between the peaks of techno and house”.

“Nebula” opens the EP with rising synths lined with euphoria, which are layered over claps and squelching bass notes. Like a hypnotising snake charmer, the uplifting mood builds towards a breakdown which is filled with an enchanting vocal sample.

The temple of Karnak was known as Ipet-isu—or “most select of places”—by the ancient Egyptians. It is a city of temples built over 2,000 years and dedicated to the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. This derelict place is still capable of overshadowing many wonders of the modern world and in its day must have been awe-inspiring.
The Egyptians believed that towards the end of annual agricultural cycle the gods and the earth became exhausted and required a fresh input of energy from the chaotic energy of the cosmos.
The statue of the god Amun was bathed with holy water, dressed in fine linen, and adorned in gold and silver jewellery. The priests then placed the god in a shrine and onto the ceremonial barque supported by poles for carrying. Pharaoh emerged from the temple, his priests carrying the barque on their shoulders, and together they moved into the crowded streets. A troop of Nubian soldiers serving as guards beat their drums, and musicians accompanied the priests in song as incense filled the air.
