Magaphone is the project of Pennsylvania native, Maggie McCain (guitar/vocals). Originating in Honolulu, where she began working on her PhD., Maggie's fascination with climate, science and surfing permeates the majority of her songs.  Her live act is an insanely cute story of her adventures and an entertaining lesson on climate change models intermixed with her "climate change love songs".  To date, Maggie has recorded all of her own music in her house in the trees on the island of Oahu. Similar artists: Kimya Dawson, Rivers Cuomo.  Major influences: the Ex, Weezer, Superchunk and the Pixies.
