A golden oldie of mine…..to close the Mendelssohn sequence until further notice…
Originally this piece of the Dutch composer Simeon ten Holt is minimal music lasting about 60 minutes performed by 2 or 4 or... x- piano's. It exists of modules which you can more or less freely set together. I reduced it by taking out several themes of modules I liked. By doing so the minimal aspect is a little bit lost, because the themes become obvious and plain. What remains are clear melodies.

This is a piece that features parts of the love theme for Dilem and Liyenne, and also presents a brief dialogue between the two near the summit of a volcanic mountain. It's a dramatic conversation in which Dilem is desperate, in need of a solution, and tries to push away his great love.

Evolution of Loss (for two cellos and piano)

Originally released as my first single on 14th November 2023, Collagen Peptides is the introduction to the album. I was originally inspired by the band Duster when I decided to start making my own music, my plan was to make more low fidelity, chill songs with none or subtle vocals as singing and writing lyrics was always the hardest part of making songs for me.

The name of the song just comes from the supplement Collagen and how one of the main reason people who decide to take it is because they are not happy with the way they look. Better skin, hair, antiaging, build muscle ect.

This is the only song on the album that had live drums recorded by myself. My drum kit was set up in my garage and was recorded with two overhead microphones and a bass drum mic. However only having a two input audio interface at the time i had to either record the bass drum seperatly or add them in later manually. This was always a pain and so I found ways to avoid doing this on later songs.

My Les Paul was used for the rhythm guitars with the shimmer setting on my reverb pedal as well as the OCD later in the song to give the shimmer a bigger sound towards the end. My stratocaster was used for the lead and features my favourite solo i've ever wrote which goes across the whole song.

The bass guitar in the original recording was slightly out of tune and had to be rerecorded for the album. Which wasn't fun.

Although instrumental if you listen closely at 1:18 and 1:27 you can here two vocal tracks where I hum the lead guitar line 'da da du du'.

Collagen Peptides

A track from my album 'Goal! Mundial 1958-1994', a concept album about the World Cup. The album contains eight tracks, each representing a key match from almost forty years of World Cup history. This particular track concerns the 1994 match between Romania and Columbia, and 'The Ace' of the title refers to the star of that match, Gheorghe Hagi.

The album tracks range from progressive rock, jazz, and classically inspired themes, to Italo Disco, electronica, and production techniques inspired by the big pop records of the 1980s. Check the album out here:
