This is a track I made about 4 months ago when my good friend leant me his mbira for a few days. For about 4 weeks back then all my tunes had mbira in them hehe... It's a beautiful sound :)

Anyway this was coming along great and then I got too baked and added loads of dreamy shit that was out of key and didn't work but I was obviously vibing with in some weird way ah ha... It sat around for the last few months because I knew something was wrong.. after seeing an old pal and an absolute music g I decided to show it to him.. Quickly he identified the problem - All the weird shit i'd added when I was high (and a few other oddities) :) He reminded me not to become attached to the sounds you've made... especially if they are taking away from the song as opposed to adding something to it.

So after he left I spent a few hours with it with fresh ideas and inspiration. All my new music is on a completely different track to this, with different intentions, and it's been so long since I contributed to the soundcloud community that I thought this were a good piece to get out there and forget about while I continue doing a different sound. :)

This took about 2 and a half hours in total to make, spread over yesterday and today, from start to finish. Using Maschine to jam it out, With a load of drum hits, some Absynths and some FM8s. This is the first recorded live take, raw, here for everyone to hear and share :) There is perfection there if you see it :)))

Winter Walks

This is a track I made for a uni project.
The concept was to make it from 5 audio tracks which were as follows:

A Recording of me playing an mbira
A vocal recording ripped from video footage taken at The Big Chill 2008(?)
An fx track made from a sample
A drum track made using one shots
A pad made in omnisphere

All the other layers in the track were made out of these 5 original channels. Bit of a weak concept but still... easily passable :D

Hope someone enjoys, any mix advice welcome, as I think it needs tweaking! :)
