Next up on Exotic Refreshment we welcome estimua, a Germany-based producer. The title track "Morning Sun" gives people the impression of waking up early in the morning after a good and fulfilling sleep, somewhere in India. It's spring time, the sun is rising, you can hear birds chirping outside everywhere. Although this is the general atmosphere, the lush and atmospheric sitar, the chopped vocals, marble sounds and a subtle touch of tabla are adding a rather darker and hypnotic vibe to the track.

Among the two beautiful original tracks entitled "Morning Sun" and "Flug der Manukoden", you will find here also four remixes from Nyvs (Sol Selectas, Underyourskin, Dream Culture, Magician On Duty), Ephlum (Bercana Music, Cosmic Awakenings, Shango, Lump Records), Nährwerk (Underyourskin Records, Amselcom, down.) and Sydka (MONADA, LOKD, Kamai Music).

A slow-burning dancefloor classic where nostalgia meets mystic groove. Magisus & Fábula flip Shaggy’s iconic Mr. Boombastic teasing the familiar through layers of crunchy circuits, percussive spells, and cinematic tension.

The idea was born after 10 days deep in the Costa Rican jungle — post-tour, post-sunset, post-everything — when we finally landed back in the studio. This is what came out. Woozy.

FREE DL: Shaggy - Boombastic (Fabula & Magisus Edit)

My "Amuse-gueules" series ('lil hors d'œuvre appetizers) has been a platform for experimentation, a tabula rasa of sorts, to upend older, unfinished ideas while introducing new 'ting and refining studio technique. Accross these 8 tracks, I've versioned a number of riddims, repurposed long-form spoken word from "Chocolat (1988)" and tucked Ethel Ellis under warp garridge basslines, all while managing to pull off an indisposable slice of "afterburn rave" delectability. Look out for lysergic, xylophonic geometries, febrile sonic brushstrokes, interpolating South Yorkshire bass mutations across widescreen landscapes into smoky after-hours speakeasies.

The last two tracks happen after dusk. On a damp night in 1Q84, Aomame nurses her verre à absinthe, at a hotel bar in Shibuya as "10 Sides of Ethel Ennis" floats out from the jukebox with a gratuitous level of lusciousness. Meanwhile, El Sapo dreams of endless battles of contrasting memories.
