@wellbeingg makes his return to @dancealldayrecords with DAD011, following up on the excellent 2019 release ‘Acid Expedition' The 4-track EP is an insightful journey through the different chapters of Dan Kirschner’s radiant sound spectrum, aptly titled ‘Mystical Visions’. Each of the tracks exuberate with meticulous programming, harmonic synthesis and crisp sound design, weaving their way through eco house, deep tech, glitchy electro and ethereal breaks.

This week we are getting experimental ~ for miix 012, Daniel Gardell takes listeners on an outta space journey. 

Daniel is thriving in the growing house scene. His Sydney based collective @rockbottomevents has been churning out great parties; booking the likes of Berlin’s Ben Rau and recently involved in a takeover of the chapel at SASH. 

Now in Melbourne, Daniel is involved in @inertiapresents, a popular collective that hosts Wednesday nights at Colour Club.

Tony Q & Barry Scran, also known as production and DJ duo 't e s t p r e s s', substitute their well-beloved moniker on Bout To Get It EP and explore a more world-building approach to their productions; featuring four patient and intricate pieces in search of new ground.

‘You Should Be Listening’ opens up the A-side with its larger-than-life and levitating textures, held in suspense by its solidified groove. ‘Bout 2 Get It’ comes in steady, and hits pace at the one minute park; the track's bassline opening and closing for maximum effect, and a tantalising vocal-loop that helps build as much suspense as it keeps the track in forward-motion.

‘Vivarium’ show’s off the pairing's knack for hybridized methods, with its UKG drum patterns and trance-tinged leads; paired with a sense of optimism and world-building, it feels like a special and versatile record; fit for multiple purposes. Finally ‘Horsepower’ Shuts things down with enough energy and grace to close any set. The duo unleash a barrage of layered brakes against a silhouette of hypnotic leads and gnarly bass; embodying many of the ideas and knowledge from previous tracks, into a breathless masterstroke.

US midwestern gem Ilana Bryne is back on Naive and, once again, she's got you covered for grade "A" contemplative-but-propulsive groovers, perfectly timed for these trying days. Like her debut EP "Low Earth Orbit" from last year, "Strange Adventure" layers sharp rhythms and playful touches with ethereal atmospheres and open spatiality. But stagnating she is not; her pristine production turned even brighter on this one, reaching a level of sonic and compositional finesse that has to be heard to be believed. 

Profound musical influences come through in this premiere's 'Used To Love T H E M', through echoes of Chicagoans like Glenn Underground, Gemini, and Boo Williams, tempered to perfection with the floaty atmospherics and chopped breaks of LTJ Bukem and other masters of liquid DNB. Delicate synth sequences illustrate loving dialogues between bass bin-busting subs and suspended Rhodes chords or airy pads, traveling through dynamic arrangements, with the odd moment of suspense done fresh.
