The second edition to the People & Places catalog is brought to us by Shjva, a Ukranian artist who has caught the attention of many over the last couple of years through a stream of self-released projects and additions to some of the most revered new labels across the scene.

Shjva’s s story continues on People & Place with her signature deep grooves that subtly transfix the listener. Northern Lights is a 3-track EP, lying on the peripheries of Trance, Acid, and Techno.

This fresh addition to the infamous compilation series revolves around a central theme: The 303 Acid Bassline.

The double LP format has always been the weapon of choice for the crew when it comes to implementing diversity in their musical story.

Despite the 303 being a rather limited concept, everyone within the collective finds a unique way to approach this classic element that has been rinsed for decades.

From the typical techno bomb of “MJM002” to the sneaky after hours tech gem “5421”, or the Detroit influenced chill-out cut “Tool”, the album bursts with playfulness and creativity, while coming together logically sound wise.

‘You’re My Heart, You’re My Meadow’ fuses infectious vocal samples, jacking drum programming and feel-good piano riffs to create a summertime anthem that at once looks back to the sonics and moods of proto-house whilst feeling entirely modern. ‘Ballistica (dub version)’ brings the EP into deeper territory, with a driving arpeggio weaving through the extrasensory tones and patterns that bring the track to moments of enlightenment. ‘L’amore (dub version)’ follows, which plays like a 80’s Freestyle meltdown for current, discerning discotheques. The release closes out with Marvin & Guy out of Italy on remix duties of ‘You’re My Heart, You’re My Meadow’. Their interpretation pushes it to all-consuming, reflective, psychedelic realms with its function as a dancefloor heater kept well and truly intact.

The mystics of Magic Ritmo arise with their debut record, unearthing Adel Dhibi's 1996 album M'Hajer for a long-awaited reissue.

Adel is a Belgian artist of Tunisian origin working most prominently between 1993 and 1996 on a variety of electronic music from Downtempo to House, Trance and beyond. The album was recorded at Java-Trot Studio in Ostend, Belgium before it's CD/Cassette release.

Adel is a Belgian artist of Tunisian origin working most prominently between 1993 and
1996 on a variety of electronic music from Downtempo to House, Trance and beyond, whilst carefully intertwining sounds inspired by his Arabic origins, a path lesser trodden by both his European and Tunisian counterparts at the time of release. A deep believer of empowerment through music, Adel’s unique approach sets to create a more peaceful world through his exploration of new and pioneering electronic sounds. A vision of sound and values that stands relevant and even more powerful today, 27 years after M’Hajer’s original release.

Magic Ritmo is honoured to continue to share Adel’s story and music with an exclusive, fully licensed and remastered version of M’hajer. The album was originally recorded at Java-Trot Studio in Ostend, Belgium before its original CD/Cassette release, making this reissue the first time M’hajer has been pressed to vinyl.  Tensi on A1 is the perfect introduction to the record, an ambience of glittering synths and strings set the tension, building towards a paradise of breaks, euphoric arpeggiators and echoing Arabic vocals. Fadha follows suit, keeping the tempo high with psychedelic flair as its driving percussion pushes the record into early-Goa territory. Finally, closing out the
record we have Sabrin for the B side, a downtempo gem filled with spacey electronics and a bassline set to shake any system that can handle its powerful frequencies.

For their next release Robbert Heynen alias Exquisite Corpse unlocks his incredible back catalogue for four acidic reinterpretations from Greek maestro Anatolian Weapons. We have the honor to present the 'Definitive Mix' of Honeymoon. It's the A1 on the EP and deserves it's position. Check out the full EP and the Transmigration catalogue as well - dope stuff!

Proceeds of the record will be donated to Legacy of Hope foundation, an Indigenous led charitable association which educates and raises awareness about the history and on-going impacts of Canada's residential school system.

NEW HIT: Exquisite Corpse - Honeymoon (Anatolian Weapons Definitive Mix) [Transmigration]

nacht and The Pilotwings (Louis & Guillaume) present a compilation of works created in the STELPLAATS venue in Leuven, early 2022.

In November 2021, right before the second lockdown, Guillaume and Louis were invited by the nacht crew in Leuven to play their first dj-set together since the start of the pandemic. 
At the time, the nacht crew had just received the first physical release on their brand new imprint, and the team was eager to get the record out into the world. For the second release, however, everything was possible. Before the show, somewhere between the obligatory nasal swab and the third drink, the idea of an unusual collaboration sprouted.

Since Louis recently moved to Athens and Guillaume lived in Lyon, the duo found less time and opportunities to work on their shared project. However, wouldn’t STELPLAATS be the ideal venue for a temporary studio in which the two of them could create music?
For all the frustration the new lockdown on clubs brought with it, one upside to it was that not that long after the birth of this idea, Louis and Guillaume found their way back to each-other and to Leuven. The duo found their workspace in the dark club that is STELPLAATS’ staple. For the occasion, the room was equipped with studio monitors, a sofa, and instruments lended by Leuven based musicians.

Leuven Works compiles five tracks that flowed out of the sessions in STELPLAATS and is a testament to the week that Louis and Guillaume had under the STELPLAATS roof. During their stay, the blood brothers got looked after with love by the nacht team, who provided homemade pizzas and a well-stocked fridge full of Duvels, allowing The Pilotwings to truly root into the Leuven soil and enrich the local landscape with their colourful presence.
