Mark It Zero!

Karl Mann aka ‘Magic View’ has been immersed in the UK’s clubbing scene for quite some time. Having spent the vast majority of his formative years raving at jungle & drum & bass in London when parties were two a penny, the music was raw and exciting and there was space for a whole host of promoters and DJ’s showcasing the music they loved without fear of soaring rent and crazy artist fee’s. 

Picking up his first pair of Technics 1200’s aged 16 and becoming fanatical about beat matching put him in good stead for the years to come. Finding his feet as a DJ in both London and Manchester where he spent 3 years at University and a place which cemented his love for the art of mixing records for his friends and punters alike. 

Fast forward a few more years and alongside a successful project co-writing and producing deep and melodic drum & bass with his brother Justin and longtime collaborator Tommy (Arcatype), Karl has now started the next chapter in his music career. 

With a steadily increasing collection of both old and current house, techno, breaks and minimal records, the decision to coin a new alias to push this corner of his repertoire was decided. 

MagicView is the culmination of years of hard graft in the DJ booth, bedroom and studio. Mixing elements of his UK focused musical heritage with music from the US, Germany, Eastern Europe and Japan, Karl aka ‘MagicView’ is now focusing his attentions on writing new music.

By exploring the extents and limitations of a hardware focused approach to writing tracks alongside an obsession for vinyl records and no-frills DJ set-up, Magic View is well placed to hit the ground running in 2022.
