C'est lors du festival "Dub In The City" organisé par l'association Keep Fayah Burning le 3 Juillet 2015, que j'ai eu l'opportunité de présenter pour la seconde fois ma conférence "L'Histoire du Dub de ses origines à nos jours" après une première du côté de l'Université de Nanterre !

Nous étions de passage au Puy-en-Velay avec Sista Bethsabée dans le cadre de la tournée du Culture Dub Sound et en fin d'après-midi, à l'heure de l'apéro, avant les concerts, ou se produisait aussi Barbés.D, l'association Keep Fayah Burning m'avait gentiment invité à partager l'Histoire du Dub... Ceci est un extrait car la conférence musicale "L'Histoire du Dub de ses origines à nos jours" dure plus de deux heures ! Je survole certaine partie qui normalement sont plus argumentées et il manque ici la partie "technique" ainsi que l'approche plus précise du "Dub Français" et du "Dub international" en fin de conférence, pris par le temps :) !!

Grâce aux prises son et vidéo que je dois à Georges Dub et à Laurent Pata Biscatov, je décide, durant cette période de confinement, de vous partager cet extrait, pour les plus jeunes, pour ceux qui débarquent dans la culture Dub et qui souhaiteraient en savoir un peu plus !

Il y a déjà 5 années, depuis la conférence s'est étoffée, des recherches plus précises ont été faites... Une histoire du Dub en perpétuel évolution comme se le doit le Dub, jamais figée, même si les bases, elles, sont là !

Progetto nato nel 2016 dall’incontro di tre musicisti campani; Pasquale “Bobby” Lamberti a.k.a. Dub Harp (chitarre, tastiere, armonica) Francesco “Joint” Spinelli (basso, tastiere, percussioni), Marco “Isla” De Francesco (tastiere, programmazione, dub-master, FX) affiancati e sostenuti dalle etichette discografiche indipendenti Rupa Rupa Records (Gabriele Loria; dub-master, programmazione, FX) e Bass Pirates.
Il sound Magma è caratterizzato da linee basso profonde e ostinate tipiche del genere roots/dub/stepper-dub che si intrecciano con tappeti sonori tessuti da chitarre e strumentazione acustica sostenute da solide basi elettroniche ricche di riverberi, delay e sintetizzatori.
Le radici che hanno dato vita al Magma sound affondano nella Roots Music, UK & French Dub per giungere alle evoluzioni più recenti del roots-steppa e  stepper-dub.

Project originated in 2016 by the encounter of three campanian musicians: Pasquale “Bobby” Lamberti a.k.a. Dub Harp (guitar, keyboards, harmonica) Francesco “Joint” Spinelli (bass, keyboards, percussions), Marco “Isla” De Francesco (keyboards, programming, dub-master, FX) flanked and supported by independient record labels Rupa Rupa Records (Gabriele Loria; dub-master, programming, FX) and Bass Pirates.
Magma's sound is characterized by deep bass and classic ostinatos of the roots-dub, stepper-dub genres, weaved together with guitars and acustic instrumentation, supported by solid electronic beat packed of reverberations, delays and synthesizers. The roots of Magma’s sound sink into Roots Music, UK & French Dub reaching the latest evolutions of roots-steppa and stepper-dub.
