Darkness

One of my many unfinished projects that have been bugging me for some years now. Took a long time to finish the song and record the video during a insane workload these past months at my daytime job. But it's done now. 

This was originally intended as song dedicated to my late mom, but we never got around to make lyrics and it just fizzled out. It became an instrumental track after all, still dedicated to the loss of those dear to me. 

Used a lot of Roland MKS as usual and some Yamaha. Even a good deal of Ensoniq gear too as well as Nexus4 for the intro arpeggios in the background.

A remix of the Amiga Protracker Module called "Stardust Memories" by Jester (Volker Tripp) used in the demo "World of Commodore" by the Amiga demoscene group called Sanity back in 1992.

This is a Remaster 2023 version.

Berliner. Massive Z returns with a hommage to their home city. Pulsating basses, dreamy synthesizer sounds and groovy drums move the groups sound forward into a more dancy vibe, reminiscent of Berlins thriving club scene.  The almost Michael Jackson-esque vibe and its touch of funk incorporated is bound to get every listener of this track straight into the dancefloor. An expedition into new territory of electronic music.

This song is based on the Chinese harp instrument called GuZheng. The creation process of this song started when I was approached through a Instagram message from a Chinese lady, and I got very inspired to try make a song with this classic instrument.

Raindrops

A little bit of piano, somewhat in orchestral style topped with a few favourite Tyrell synth sounds and a hint of beat :) 

As much as it sounds like a simple earworm, the original 3 channels are quite complex at the same time - was a great challenge to align all the notes accordingly, but I wanted to keep the original feel and almost the same arrangement as an end result =)

A Lifetime of Music

It’s all about Creativity. That's the key reason why someone like Magnar has spent his last past twenty years making music for the world of demos, games and beyond.

His claim to fame started on the Amiga demo scene in the early nineties, where he released most of his best musical work up to that date, in the music disk "Mirror" by the then already-legendary Norwegian team Andromeda. Then moving over to the hyper active TBL, Magnar was behind the main soundtracks of the chart-hitting demos Darkside (1996) and Panacea (1997).

"I was amazed by what was possible to do with computers, and all the great productions intrigued me into getting more involved in the scene community", he says.

The Present
Magnar moved over to Sweden during the summer time of 2000. Where he settled down to live together with his wife and two kids. In 2008, he finished building his privately owned music studio called Garage Outputz, which shows the level of his passion and inspiration for composing new music. The studio also doubles up as his office, where he can be creative in different ways with computer art. Magnar's ambition is to compile a CD album and delivering a lasting impression to listeners all over the globe. "I am composing a lot of new tracks, and when I feel satisfied, I aim to release that to the general public", he says.
