On the year Magna Recordings reaches 20 years of life, our first release has the number 100. On this digital era it may seem that 100 releases is not such a big number, but for us is an important milestone. We try to release new producers, new talents that fit in our “typical” sound as well as established names, and we think we’ve done so, in the last 20 years.

Having that in mind, our release 100 should be something special. And we think it is. XL Garcia and MC Johnny Def are two of the most important electronic artists in Portugal who have been on the leading front of the country’s underground scene since its very beginning. XL Garcia is one of the main Portuguese Techno DJ’s that has been part of most of the main electronic events all over Portugal. MC Johnny Def has also been one of the leading faces of the country underground circuit and just recently had a big Tech House release with Steve Lawler called “People” on Adam Beyer’s Truesoul Label.

“Movers & Shakers” is an intense Techno track, with a distorted MC Johnny Def speech that gives the release that underground Techno edge. While the “Main Mix” and “Dub Mix” are powerful peak time versions, the great “Alternative Mix” goes into Melodic Techno and Progressive House territories and it’s also a great version.

The Magna Recordings 100D package ends with a Carlos Manaça dark Techno version featuring Johnny Def powerful vocals.
