One only has to look at the label’s previous releases of “Blue Agave Fields” or “Morning Chant” with its African ngoni riffs to hear what has quickly become a tradition for the label, firmly planting it’s feet in both the analog and digital worlds.

Inspired by their world travels, and a desire to bring back a piece of every musical culture they encounter, KMLN 's 2nd release on Sol*Selectas, the "Sabilu EP" is 2 original tracks written and recorded in Indonesia, and Mexico. "Sabilu" features the vocals of Javanese jazz singer Mian Meuthia, now living in Bali, and original field recordings of jewelry, sticks, shakers, and traditional Gamelon music. The Indonesian lyrics speak about the love that exists in all humans, and that even though we all strive to be different, we are one in the same. "Gitamato" is a reinterpretation of the roots of Flamenco music, historically imported by the Spanish into Mexico. The spirit of gypsy wanderers is still alive and strong felt in Mexico, particularly in the town of Tulum - where a genuine sense of ancient magic can literally be felt in the air. In this song KMLN has recorded live the guitars, claps, shakers, synths, snares, and bell sounds. For the remix of "Sabilu", we have enlisted the stellar work of Mira & Christopher Schwarzwalder from Berlin, whose residencies at Bar 25, and now Katerblau, have made them underground legends. Their remix strips back the original, taking us on a slower even deeper hypnotic journey - while retaining the original message of human love and respect for all, within the lyrics. The final remix of "Sabilu" comes from new producer Schon Long, whose entry into our Shambhala Music Festival / Sol Selectas remix competition earlier this summer, was the stand out winner. Creatively playing on the pitch of the vocals, and adding the grooviest bass line we've heard in a long time, his remix submission was hands down the victor out of over 50 entries. 
The artwork by Helia Jamali captures the feminine energy and message of oneness in "Sabilu", represented here by the deep red orange Indonesian flower with goddesses dancing around its essence.

The maiden release for their brand new imprint Happy Camper Records comes from Noraj Cue himself (aka Jaron van de Weg). The Dutchman is renowned for his impeccable productions, and is frequently called upon by others to help mixing and mastering. Releasing on labels like Manual Music, Connaisseur and BlaBla, he has cemented a style that is both emotionally tantalizing and technically sound. Story At The Campfire is a nocturnal journey through dreamy pads, mesmerizing arpeggios and captivating sound textures. 

ACHT head honcho LetKolben picks up the pace with a driving remix, built on an infectious horn and drum section, but still honoring the originals' magical arpeggios. Katerblau residents Mira & Chris Schwarzwälder have transformed the original into a hazy journey of their own, bound to set even the coldest of dance floors ablaze. And Be Svendsen delivers another one of his "hypnotic desert-circus-shaman-cowboy-techno" remixes. All of them are of course close friends of the Happy Camper crew - it's a family affair.

Dolph takes us on a joyride under the wide musical horizon that is so typical for him, using an ambling groove and the power of musical warmth as a means of propulsion. In his track Into he sends a colorful carpet of harmonic fragments drifting on the subtle flow of the rhythm, arranging and rearranging on the soft undulations of the bass like a kaleidoscopic narrative. It comes with two remixes, each picking up one of the two prevailing moods of this title: Lukas Endhardt puts a focus on the dreamy aspects, creating an idyllic Downbeat version. Toni Haupt on the other hand aims at the dancefloor and accordingly provides a solid dose of boost and pressure. Then there's the programmatic title Constant Change that keeps morphing into ever new shapes and atmospheres, making it a very stimulating affair on all different levels of the production.

Swept away by @ziganaldi. The "Odin" EP brews with @souqrecordss’ traditional smoky desert flavours, evoked by Eastern instruments meeting electronica. Yet the EP is quick to cut through expectations and take a resolutely urban, robust direction: moody takeoffs, low rumbling vocals, a guitar’s singing electricity, heady bass-lines, and enveloping darkness. Odin flirts with melodic techno but never fully gives in to its calls, riding the tension between organic and electric.

Zigan Aldi debuts on Souq with this statement EP, infused with his two homes of Eastern Turkey and Berlin. His atmospheric narrative is three part: Odin rises, Heppnar strikes, Desert Hills simmers down. Three smouldering remixes by @iorie, @zuma_dionys and @namito land the story on softer tracks, completing the picture with elegance.
