After several events at the southern part of germany the grauzone imprint now presents a 20-track compilation - a selection of highly functional dancefloor tracks from friends around the globe, curated by the Grauzone collective. All proceeds will be donated to a relief organization that cares for the victims of the devastating earthquake disaster that took place in turkey and syria. 

More than a month after the devastating earthquakes from February 6 in southern Turkey and northwestern Syria, the plight of the people remains acute. Due to the war, the disaster has further exacerbated the already dramatic situation in Idlib and Aleppo. A total of 180,000 people were forced to leave their shelters. In southern Turkey, more than 3 million people had been forced to leave their homes by early March. Many of the displaced still have no shelter. Both regions had previously housed millions of Syrian refugees who were already living in precarious conditions.

This compilation would not be possible without all the artists who were involved and contributed their tracks. We are grateful to everyone who purchased it.

PREMIERE: TENO - Calendula (Palma Remix) [AUM006]

We premiere new music from Amsterdam-based techno acts Argie as he features on JFNS. We feature a groove-laced piece of minimalistic techno that growls from the belly up as Argie keeps things locked, rolling, and icy.

Electronic Pulse is a distinctive new EP that includes a range of emotions and auditory landscapes of modern techno. It showcases various artists’ ability to marry hypnotic rhythms with intricate soundscapes. Each track, from Serti’s entrancing “The Minimalist” to Dani Duran’s loop-filled “Drop that Beat,” contributes to a pulsating journey into the heart of electronic music.

We premiere music from Argie – an Amsterdam-based producer fueled by his love and passion for electronic music. He has released his productions on a variety of labels, including Sensum Digital, Black line
Recordings, SUBEQ Music, and more.

Argie’s passion for sound engineering goes hand in hand with his love for live sets and the experimentation of live jamming. With many years of experience testing hardware and software, from modular systems to DAWs, from controllers to analog instruments. He educated himself on performing hybrid live sets by using analog instruments in combination with his own digital productions. Providing him the opportunity to blend his way of performing with the environment of any venue.

We premiere his latest offering, ‘Dust,’ which draws inspiration from classic minimalistic techno yet totally the newer generation of techno’s infatuation with pulsating rhythms with influence stemming from tribal aesthetics and spacey atmospheres. Argie brilliantly encapsulates what nu-groove techno is all about – the fascination of the future while clutching at the roots of authoritative minimalistic grooves.

PREMIERE: Mown - Blown Away By Time [NOR028]

A bass rumble seems to rearrange your organs like a spiritual doctor, fast techno kicks and a funky as hell percussion line emerge - it's the lucky 13th release on Lisbon's Paraíso, this time by local mainstays @shcuro and @vilmusic - the first, label co-founder, the second a longtime friend and impeccable DJ with a range that runs from dubstep to the hardest strains of techno and beyond. 

The opener track ‘Rumble The Funk’ evolves with infectious stabs and cut-up vocal and our legs can't seem to stand still.

The groove continues on with the A2 'Recoil', a soulful, dubby, relentless ode to techno that feels authentic and purposeful. Emotional tones find their way in via a mysterious, melodic string, introduced in the breakdown.

Dubbed out motifs, delay + feedback strokes make a welcome return on the appropriately titled 'Chime Dub’ that opens the B side of the record: skippy rhythmic layers and a warm bassline complete the picture, string flourishes give us glimpses of radiant dancefloor revelations.

On the B2 the duo's opener track gets the remix treatment by another exciting duo: @blasha-allatt, who are the women behind the iconic queer techno raves Meat Free. They flip the original's melody into a rapid, dreamy affair, conveying an optimism that perfectly wraps up this solid record by continuing the celebration of collaborative work.
