Most of this was written in 2015/16, except for the Sharmat-tracks, some of the ambient tracks, and the last track. Those tracks were written this year. The Sharmat tracks were created by playing two guitars with different tunings against eachother. The early tracks are mostly distortions of even earlier tracks or distortions of radio recordings, there are also some original compositions as well like the excerpt from my unfinished piano piece in track 13. 

Ashtanga is also one of the original compositions, altough it uses the same electronic drumtrack that is used in the background of FlanTheMusicMan's "Contemplating Owen Meany, Ashtanga Yoga Soundtrack Vol.1", and that drum track is used in the last track again, as well as the same chords that are used in Ashtanga(add9). The biggest difference however is that in the last track the chords are sometimes sorted by a twelve-tone row. The twelve-tone row is controlling the bass notes, not the notes on top, this makes it kind of tonal/diatonic since the same chord is played but in a different key. This twelve tone row is also played in the first track as a low drone.

I used Audacity to generate the chords and melodies for the last track as well. I clicked "create" ->"sound", and used "change pitch" on several duplications to make chords and counterpointmelodies. This was a terrible method, It was slow and frustrating, but I created some interesting sounds I think, probably. However the entire mixtape is very badly/cheaply produced, and sounds terrible most of the time.

The mixtape is inspired by the expansion pack for Oblivion called The Shivering Isles, that's why it's called "Øymiks", which means "IslandMix. It's entire creation was inspired by The Shivering Isles and the music reflects that since the listener goes trough the process of entering and exploring The Shivering Isles, especially in the first 4 tracks. The rest is more about coming to terms with it.
