Last year's '4' album saw Mr. Luke Vibert's first venture as Kerrier District in over a decade. And a successful venture it was at that – with the album becoming into an essential long player, and ranking as one of Bleep's top albums of 2015, Now, to mark Hypercolour's 50th single release, four of electronic music's heavyweights have brought forward three strong reworkings of 4: Ricardo Villalobos & Max Loderbauer, Head High (aka Shed) and RA Best Live Act of 2015, KiNK – whose remix comes up trumps in our eyes.

In his take on album favourite, "Techno Disco", KiNK deploys a spacey synth melody and a Reese-style bassline – transforming it into an energetic peaktime track, with elements not falling sonically far from a UR record.

"The referendum on the UK's membership of the EU has had appalling consequences. It has amplified many divisions in society and in particular has helped to re-establish xenophobia as legitimate and acceptable. Witnessing this against the global backdrop of a resurgence of the far-right, it's essential that those who find these developments unacceptable make their thoughts known and take action.

This piece of music was written in the aftermath of the referendum and I present it as the basis of an internationalist collaboration with sound makers irrespective of what kind of music they make, where they live, their background, their age - all are invited to participate. It is not offered as a substitute for progressive political action but as a complement to it. I put it forward in defiance of the bigotry threatening the fragile connections that exist between us all. I hope it will be an opportunity to reaffirm some of those connections amidst a very disturbing situation.

I have provided a finished mixdown of the piece and audio stems of the constituent instrumental parts. Also available are scores and a MIDI file representing the note to note information. Take the parts and use them however you like. It could be subtly remixed or reworked beyond recognition. Change the instrumentation, the key, the order of notes, the notes themselves - it is absolutely open. The only stipulation is this: if you want your piece to be listed on this site then it must have the title "Midi Sans Frontières". You are welcome not to use that title for whatever you do but that means we can't host your piece

Layton Giordani landed on Drumcode with his debut album, ‘Where It Begins’, on Monday (27th February). To celebrate the occasion he’s turned in a Fresh Kicks mix, which you can listen to above.

Production golden boy Giordani first hit Adam Beyer’s Drumcode imprint last year with ‘Rivington’ on the ‘A-Sides Vol 5’ compilation.

He’s also previously caught the eye of none other than Carl Cox, who signed him up on his Intec label for the release of ‘Never Forgotten’ in 2015.

For his debut album, the New York-born DJ/producer turned in an impeccable selection of no-nonsense techno across its 12 tracks.

And Giordani’s Fresh Kicks mix presents business as usual in that sense, demonstrating exactly why the 23 year old is one of the brightest young talents in main room techno.

This project has been a long time coming. Since the release of our first 12'', we've been engaged with the idea of getting a variety of artists flipping and twisting original S.Maharba material. For the better part of a year, we sent source material from S.Maharba's '08 debut to some usual BTS suspects. Slowly but surely, tracks started to find thier way into our inbox. Some tracks would come in smooth and mellow, others, a wrecking ball of bass and drums. The final product is a complete range of sound, all seeded by S.Maharba.

Remixers on this release include: Mike Slott, Mono/Poly, Shigeto, Sweatson Klank, The Clonious, Co.Fee, Dibiase, Pyramid Juke and Young Montana. This digital album is scheduled for release on February 19th. More info soon.
