My Translation of the Danish jocular ballad "Katten i Sækken" also known as "Der stod tre skalke". This version is after Dronningens Livstykke's 1980 recording which is after a 1963 recording of traditional singer Marie Peteren of Vorup on the Island of Funen. The song comes from a Northern European tradition of songs, about a group of tricksters tricking their way into the bower of a miller's daughter by disguising as a sack of grain.
