Old happy hardcore 90's

SO I got bored and after looking at some old Rez videos online I decided to get the old tunes out and have a wee mix.  It's been a while since I played anything like this, and I'd forgotten how difficult mixing hardcore could be compared to techno.  No longer, intertwined mixing.  Just straight to the point, chops and quick stuff.  Pretty tiring stuff!

Anyway, here's the mix, mistakes and all.  It isn't exactly all the kind of stuff I listened to back then, but Rez was never about the brutal industrial stuff.  And although I didn't really listen to it at home or anywhere else, at Rez it always sounded right!

I stopped after about 80 mins as I started to play some stuff that never really got played at Rez and was released after its untimely demise.

So I decided to dive back into the old hardcore stuff again.  The last Rezerection Classic mix went down pretty well so hopefully this does too.

This mix isn't flawless.  There are some skips and mistimed transitions.  That's what happens when you're too busy dancing and forget to mix!

Every track is from 93-97 (except one I played in error), when Rezerection was like a spiritual home for many across the UK, and beyond.

There's a little less bouncy stuff here, more of a Dutch sound, which was massive at Rez.

So from Evolution Records, through Shoop!, Bass Generator Records and Dwarf, to the mighty Industrial Strength.  There's a bit of it here.

So dig out your white gloves and whistles.  And think back to that beautiful big hanger at Ingliston...
