By 2006, Jumpstyle gained internet presence in forums, DJ sites, and online radio. Many downloadable bootlegs, promos, mixes, and DIY bedroom tracks circulated without physical media. As viral dance videos on YouTube emerged (jumpfilmpjes, or "jump movies"), the genre's visibility erupted. Jumpen, "jumping," routines had a solojump or duojump format, whereas jumpers and jump crews created aliases, dancing in every public setting possible. Commodification of melodic Jump alongside this widespread internet trend marked a shift from the underground.
