Shocked and saddened to hear that Stu Allan passed away this week, to say he was a legend is an understatement, he was the scene for me in Manchester throughout the nineties thanks to his radio show on key 103 and his sets at places like Club Kinetic and Bowlers, he played many styles over the years including Hip Hop and Chicago House but I obviously remember him for his Bouncy Techno and Hardcore sets, the first rave tape I ever heard was a Stu Allan at Club Kinetic tape and it changed my life (literally) never heard anything so amazing before and I wore the tape out, fixed it with cello tape and wore it out even more, it was like Christmas when someone told me he did a radio show on key 103, so there I was recording every week trying to stop the recording to miss the adverts and then listening to that recording in school all week, usually so much I got my walkman confiscated.
This is my tribute, just some of the many tracks he played that I loved, for all the cheeky monkeys, rest in peace Stu ...
