Baha’i music composer Tom Price gave a series of three talks about the Five Year Plan at the Tennessee Baha’i School in 2011. With his permission, Baha’i Blog is pleased to share these talks with you.

Mr. Hartmut and Mrs. Ursula Grossmann were the keynote speakers at the North Island Baha'i Summer School in New Zealand at the end of December 2013, and the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of New Zealand has given Baha'i Blog four of Mr. Grossmann’s audio talks for you to listen to.

Mr. Grossmann was a former member of both the International Teaching Centre and the Universal House of Justice, until he retired in 2008. He passed away in 2017. A tribute to Mr. Grossmann can be read here on the Baha'i World News Service: news.bahai.org/story/1228/

We’ve been asked to remind everyone that Mr. Grossmann gave these talks as an individual Baha'i, and not as a representative of the Universal House of Justice.

Tom Price - The Role of Religion in Today's Society

A great talk given by Professor Nader Saiedi called “Identity and the Spiritual Journey in the Badi Calendar” organised by the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of Santa Monica, California. 

Last year, the Universal House of Justice sent a letter to the global Baha'i community implementing the worldwide adoption of the Baha'i calendar, known to Baha'is as the Badi calendar, and in this 99 minute talk, Professor Saiedi explains and reflects on various aspects of its nature and history. 

Professor Nader Saiedi is well known for his books 'Logos and Civilization' and 'Gate of the Heart'. Born in Tehran, Iran. He holds a master’s degree in economics from Pahlavi University in Shiraz and a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Wisconsin. For over 25 years he was a professor of sociology at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. In 2013, he became the Taslimi Foundation Professor of Baha’i Studies in the department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures at UCLA. 

Identity and the Spiritual Journey in the Badi Calendar

Dr. Janet Khan gives a talk on the extraordinary life and legacy of Bahiyyih Khanum, daughter of Baha'u'llah. Bahiyyih Khanum, the Greatest Holy Leaf, contributed significantly in the early years of the Faith. Her steadfastness during a critical period in the history of the religion and during her appointment as the head of the Baha'i Faith testifies to the greatness of her character. 

The Greatest Holy Leaf is a superb role model to men and women everywhere who seek creative ways to deal with the forces of today's society. 

This talk was filmed in the Gold Coast Baha'i Centre, Australia on July 2015.

Fire and Light in The Bab's Tablet Proclaiming to Be the Qa'im - Dr. Nader Saiedi

In this talk, given at the Grand Canyon Baha'i Conference (Phoenix, USA) in December, 2012, Dr. Vahid Rafati explores the life, achievements and works of Abdu'l-Baha.

Dr. Vahid Rafati received his B.A degree in Psychology from Tehran University. He subsequently completed his PhD in Islamic Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Rafati has been serving at the Research Department of the Baha'i World Centre in Haifa, Israel since 1980 and is the author of numerous articles and books in both Persian and English.
