Ziger lands back on ICONYC this week with a brand-new single entitled 'Feel the Bass'. The Greek producer continues to be one of the top tier progressive house artists with continued support from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, along with releases on Eleatics, Beatfreak, Sudbeat and his own Eat My Hat imprint. 

'Feel The Bass' finds Ziger at his creative best with a driving, hypnotic production that's nicely dialed in or the dance floor. Punchy beats and a full, driving groove anchor the piece, as vibrant tones and spacey effects adorn the framework. The main break hits suddenly and its astral charm quickly saturates your pleasure centers, before melting down to a cavernous reservoir as the beats drop for a storming finale. 

The first remix of 'Feel the Bass' comes courtesy of LA based producer Anakim who returns to the label with a deep melodic remix here. The US artist reshapes the original elements into something deeper and more melodic spacious sounding. The wonk factor on the low end is quite high and monumentally groovy as well, nicely playing off the rolling rhythmic qualities as dulcet hooks and gentle harmonics drift in and out of the framework. The main break shifts the narrative into more emotive territory but the dance floor sensibility remains, with muted beats and percussive clusters building towards a tasteful drop. Superb rework from Anakim. 

The third and final interpretation comes from label debutants Propellar. The Berlin based duo follow excellent releases on MUKKE, Katz & Kauz and Family Piknik with a brilliant interpretation here. Deep, compelling and acutely mysterious, it's deep melodic qualities and richly textured groove make for a lovely first act. As atmospheres evolve, distinctive stabs and vocal edits steal the air, before a one-minute break takes you further into a haze of psychedelic audio, perfectly setting up a groovy finale. A brilliant remix from Propellar that's likely destined for the sets of the big boy brigade. Highly recommended.

Fun projects need to be shared. In this case I like to give away my newest fun project - I did in my free time. Hashtag is a combination of five elements in one track. With the focus on a snare drum roll, a upward pitching part, a melody, a fat baseline and acid elements. Acid in that case means, crazy sounds in a groovy beat. Hope you like it - have fun.

“Slowness”

Introspección profunda:
Desde los primeros compases, la atmósfera ya sugiere que no es un track pensado para levantar brazos en un festival, sino para sumergirse en un viaje mental o emocional. Es una pieza que invita a cerrar los ojos y dejarse llevar. Suave, pero con dirección.

Nostalgia positiva:
Hay un tono melancólico, sí, pero no triste. Se siente como mirar hacia atrás con cariño, como una caminata solo al atardecer después de un momento importante. La armonía es contemplativa pero no oscura.

Fluir y paciencia:
El desarrollo lento y progresivo (como el título sugiere) transmite madurez artística. No hay prisas. Cada sonido tiene su espacio y propósito. Hay una confianza en el groove, en el viaje, que genera calma y fascinación.

Conexión con la naturaleza / lo etéreo:
Por momentos, la combinación de pads, reverbs y texturas ambientales da la sensación de estar flotando, como si se tratara de una experiencia inmersiva más que musical. Es un tema que se sentiría natural en un sunset set en Ibiza o Tulum , en Burning Man, o incluso en un warm-up largo de club bien profundo.

Deep Introspection:
From the opening bars, the atmosphere suggests this isn't a track meant to raise your arms at a festival, but rather to immerse yourself in a mental or emotional journey. It's a piece that invites you to close your eyes and let yourself go. Soft, but with direction.

Positive Nostalgia:
There's a melancholic tone, yes, but not sad. It feels like looking back fondly, like a walk alone at sunset after an important moment. The harmony is contemplative but not dark.

Flow and Patience:
The slow, progressive development (as the title suggests) conveys artistic maturity. There's no rush. Each sound has its space and purpose. There's a trust in the groove, in the journey, that generates calm and fascination.

Connection with Nature / The Ethereal:
At times, the combination of pads, reverbs, and ambient textures gives the sensation of floating, as if it were an immersive experience rather than a musical one. It's a track that would feel natural on a sunset set in Ibiza or Tulum, at Burning Man, or even a long, deep club warm-up.

Calling an EP “Devil” although it will most certainly conjure a smile on the face of any elctronic music enthusiast might come as a surprise, or even cause confusion. 
But let’s be fucking serious, when Boris Brejcha picked this title, he had probably no evil thoughts in mind but was rather daydreaming of one of his many shows that are known to turn any club into a diabolically hot sweat lodge due to the energetic atmosphere and ecstatic crows. 
So in the end you could arque that the title of his new EP seems long overdue. 

The name giving A-Side comes as clean and to the point as we know it from Boris Brejcha.
A rolling beat that never looks back but marches forward, driven by pure energy and nifty as hell. 
Let the speaking devil suck you into this dark piece of High-Tech Minimal and join the ride for almost the minutes. 

Right from the start “The Darkest Night” reveals an even groovier drive that makes it sound unstoppable. Furthermore the track turns out to be an emotional rollercoaster in the form of a roaring and intimidating fanfare that fades in and out before a catchy melody line spreads a thoughtful and intimate atmosphere. This B-side will definitely make you want to go for another round…and another round…

Last but not least this “devilish” EP will end “In The Middle Of Nowhere”. But unlike the name implies, Boris Brejcha is taking you right to his musical epicenter. 
Expect one of Boris’ most multifaceted tracks that prove why his career continues to skyrocket.

I am breathing electronic music since late 70s and that's over 45 years now. From Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Yazoo, Alphaville, Men without Hats, Nitzer Ebb, Die Krupps, Front 242, Anne Clark, Camouflage, Gary Numan, OMD, Apopytygma Berzerk and even the Commodore 64 demo & break dance scene to more contemporary Electronic music artists, I witnessed the evolution of Electronic music, which basically means I am an old fart and consider myself an authority in this music genre 😵 Currently I listen DnB almost exclusively. But I do not like to restrict myself at all, enjoying flavors like Electronica, Trance, Psytrance, Tech House, Dubstep, Deep House, Future Pop, Trap, Techno, UK Bass and of course EBM/Industrial as well.

What you will find in my likes and playlists is the top of the crop in Electronic Music, I will  absolutely not list any bullshit. A track I have not listed might be just that: Bullshit, just mediocre or an artistic gem which I haven't discovered yet.
