So my background as a DJ has been playing 80's boogie and disco first with vinyl then with Serato Vinyl for about a decade. But I always had a soft spot for Chicago house, Acid and classic House (no surprise since it evolved few years later from the music I played). It wasn't until early this year that I felt screw it! let's find some music I can complement the boogie with and let's start digging again! This is the first mix I've made with my "new sound" which I am still trying to find, and also the first mix using a controller. I been hesitating to release this because it's not "perfect" but f*ck it!

I decided to load my USB's with some Afro House tracks since the booker told me I could play whatever I want as long as it's chill, since it's a cocktail bar. :D

Live from Teatergatan - 19 October 2019

Back in December 2014 I made this mix to showcase Afro House to the local promotors but they weren't really ready for it. 

Mixed with my Technics 1200 and Serato.

First time I came across Afro House was at ADE 2011 where I heard Culoe De Song and Black Coffee. There and then I completely fell in love with the sound!

Had this recorded on my USB from a gig I did probably at a bar/lounge earlier this year. I'm mixing some Classic Disco with Modern Disco House tracks and I guess you could call it Chicago House.

Maikol Knight a.k.a Don Maze competed in his first DJ Battle in 2003 and continued to actively compete until representing his hometown at the Swedish DMC DJ Mastership in 2005. He left the turntablism scene and started DJing the music he was passioned about, early 80’s Disco, Funk and Boogie in clubs and bars around Stockholm where he then was residing. For places such as East, Lokal, Bauer, Bruno Gallerian and brands as Adidas. 
He later decided to move to Amsterdam where he became a resident DJ at Kashmir Lounge, playing for H&M and at De Baile. After some years of studies and focusing on entrepreneurship now back in his hometown he got asked to perform again thinking it belonged to the past but it actually brought back the passion of mixing and giving people new sounds. 
Now the sound evolved from the 80’s music into House music with influences from Disco and Chicago House.
