Electro-Swing is a fusion of electronic dance music and 1920s, 1930's & 1940s Jazz and Big Band styles with genres such as House & Electro music, made popular by artists such as Parov Stelar

The Mix also includes a few tracks from the 'Balkan' style music that uses samples from old Russian / Balkan records. Then at the end of the mix it goes off on a tangent to the 1960s... :oD

1920's Terraria

Hello again! With this new mix I thought I'd try something a little different. It's a compilation of 1920s hot jazz music, the music of Sinclair Lewis and F Scott. Fitzgerald. It moves from the crunchy early vinyl sounds of Charles King, Fletcher Henderson and Jack Hylton, the jovial tone of artists like George Olsen, to the brassy, more polished sound pushed by the likes of Bix Beiderbecke, Ray Starita and Lud Gluskin in the late 20s. Part of the reason I created this mix was not just because I'm a huge fan of the music, but because I wanted to create a mix that reflected a broader reflection of 1920s popular music, outside of staples such as the Blackbottom Stomp that have come to dominate popular understanding of the music. Hopefully by using lesser-known artists such as Ray Starita, Clyde Dooer and Duke Yellman in this mix, this can be achieved to some extent. If you're interested in getting into hot jazz hopefully this mix will provide you with a launching pad into the genre.

Tune in, turn on, drop out! „The Trip“ is Dexter's long-awaited follow-up to his seminal „Jazz Files“ album. The German gold & platinum producer (Casper , Cro) and Hi-Hat Club member is letting his hair down by turning the late 60ties psychedlic rock sound into hip-hop.
„The Trip“ is all about free love, LSD, hash, fuzz guitars, tablas and revolution and at the same time probably one of the most free-thinking hip-hop albums of 2013. Dexter's music has been in its own cloud for a while now, but none of his previous records have been as far-out as „The Trip“. With a concept similar the „The Jazz Files“ Dexter is telling his personal psych story, one that been triggered by his diggin habits. „I like nearly every music from the late 60ties“, he says, „My whole musical spectrum has been shaped by this era. It was a time when everything was in progress - art, film, music, society. And I wanted to bring this vibe across on this album.“

Artwork comes from Robert (photos) and Gizem Winter (illustrations). The first single from „The Trip“ will be „Pictures“ and featurew Berlin singer Josa Peit on vocals.
