Tullamore Musical Society are celebrating 60 years of entertaining people far and wide.
This year they are shaking things up with their production of 'All Shook Up'.
I began with speaking to Brian Gunning who has been performing with the society for 36 years.

Almost 49,000 people will be making their way to Stradbally in Co. Laois the Electric Picnic Festival this weekend. The monster festival will feature massive acts including Florence and the Machine, Blur, Underworld, Sam Smith and Grace Jones amongst many, many more. I went along to Stradbally to get a sneak peak at what this year’s event has in store and filed this report. I began by speaking with the festivals publicist Lyndsey Holmes:

‘Fifty ways to Kill Aidan’s Nanny’ was a fundraising initiative by a Portarlington based family. Six Year Old Aidan Byrne is one of less than three hundred people worldwide with Kleefstra Syndrome. Diagnosed last year, Aidan’s parents Fran and Rebecca were busy fundraising for Aidan’s new buddy, an assistance dog named Mac. Whether she liked it or not Aidan’s Grandmother Collette was nominated to do a parachute jump as they tried to raise the much needed funds. I went along to their family home in Portarlington to find out more about little Aidan and Kleefstra Syndrome. Find out how the jump went in part 2!

A three year old snooker sensation from Offaly has taken the internet by storm. A video featuring snooker skills from Adam Wynne uploaded to youtube a week ago has generated over 220,000 views. The toddler old has captured the attention of people from all over the world as he demonstrates perfect control as he pots ball after ball. I went along to Adam's family home to see his skill first hand.

Timahoe National School, still reeling from last years big win at the intel mini scientist competition are getting ready to do it all over again. 

Yesterday they held an impressive science fair in their school gym where two expert judges examined their top class projects.

Kids from forth, fifth and sixth class presented projects which covered every topic from tickling to bacteria and everything in between.

Sinéad Buggy and Laura Miller from 6th class were selected as the overall winners from Timahoe for their project 'Can blind people play Video games?'. 

They told me all about their winning idea.

A sea of pink and blue balloons covered the sky in Athlone on Saturday afternoon, each one representing the child of a bereaved parent. 

The Vard sisters serenaded over 200 people at a remembrance ceremony organised by Anam Cara, who since their 2008 launch have provided support for over 6,800 families throughout Ireland. 

Each year in Ireland 2,500 families lose a child and whether you have lost an infant or an adult Anam Cara is an all inclusive service. 

I went along to the ceremony to speak with some of the grieving parents.

She began by speaking with the charities ceo and co-founder Sharon Vard about the charities conception.

Cathal Joyce went into cardiac arrest during a match in Cusack Park, Mullingar twelve weeks ago.

The 25 year old AIT student from Ballykeeran has an incredible outlook on life and is using his experience to help educate others about the importance of CPR and defibrillator training. 

He has also donated a defibrillator from Heartsafety Solutions to his local community in Ballykeeran.

Back studying, training and eager to move forward with his life, Cathal reflects back on the faithful day that changed his life.

Tullamore Musical Society are gearing up for their 61st production 'The Witches of Eastwick'.

The very funny, naughty and cheeky musical is based on the 1987 film featuring Jack Nicholson, Cher, Michelle Pfeiffer and Susan Sarandon.

The musical follows the story of three single women, living in the picturesque village of Eastwick, who have their wishes granted at a cost, wh en the devilish Darryl Van Horne arrives on the scene. 

The show which kicks off this Saturday (13th) and runs until Friday (19th) promises to keep you laughing from beginning to end.  

I went along to their band call to meet with some of the cast and production team who are all very excited for you to see the sexy musical comedy.
