Thanks for listening.  This song marks the journey my gran made, returning home to Scotland, newly widowed in 1940 after only 4 yrs of marriage.   She had my mum( 3) and her sister(1) with her.  It was tough but they made it.

Mairi Campbell is a pioneering figure in Scottish music. Her musical interests are wide ranging, from playing Scottish dance music to pushing the boundaries of the traditional music scene with her soundings and improvisations. Mairi has won several awards for her musicianship including Instrumentalist of the Year and Scots Singer of The Year at the Scots Trad Music Awards.
Mairi has recently started to create one woman music theatre shows.  These unique and powerful offerings for the stage have been met with critical acclaim: 'Mairi Campbell: Pulse' and 'Mairi Campbell: Auld Lang Syne'.
