"Psalm 23" is from The Bible. However, the lyrics have been reinterpreted in what is known as 'Word Jazz' - a language invented by Ken Nordine. The text mirrors the devotional feeling of the Psalm in The Bible, but modernizes the language. 

The Lord's my main-man, my groove, my guide. 
No need to explain, He already knows. 
He lays me down in green pastures, 
Cool waters whisper low. 
Gets my head back on track. 
He keeps me in step, a righteous rhythm, 
for the sake of His holy name. 
When I’m in shadowlands, feelin' down, lost my crown,
night creatures howl at the moon 
I ain't fazed, He’s by my side, 
Rod in hand, voice steady, 
Keepin’ the wolves at bay. 
He lays out a spread for me, Right in front of the haters. 
Oil on my head, my cup overflows. 
Goodness and mercy trails me every step of the way. 
When the final note fades, I’ll chill out in His house, 
Forever and always. 
No need for an encore.
