I present to you a half poor vocal backed up by a vocal beat a tiny bit out of key. But hey, what can you expect? It´s not as easy as you´d think and I wrote and recorded this "song" a year ago when I had like 30 minutes to spare at school, so I think you should be amazed instead! ;D

And so the journey continues, although this time with a song that was recorded even before the previous song was made. This one, a cover of the marvellous "Ode to Divorce" originally made by the most amazing musical woman walking on earth (Regina Spektor), was recorded in may, 2012 by me (Vocal) and Malin Näsbom (Piano).
I actually hade the good fortune to watch her perform it this summer. It was more than amazing!

Jag har alltid ogillat för mycket reverb men kan inte motstå frestelsen att experimentera med effekten, så ja, så här blev det. Jag hade some quality time med mitt piano igår eftermiddag då jag testade mitt halvt så nya ljudkort+mick och det här är resultatet helt enkelt. Jag la inte ned den ansträngning som behövdes för jag orkar inte.

My last night in Boston so why not wrap it up with some music? This is a song that me and Austin have been playing for a while so we finally decided to record it quickly. It's a cover of a cover, originally by Diane Cluck and Jeffrey Lewis but we've mostly listened to Johnny Flynn and Laura Marling's version.

Travel Light - Cover by Austin Rockman & Maja Granberg

Found the first composition I made for MAT this spring. As everything I recorded over there the quality isn´t great (unwanted puffs and such) but it is what it is and it was fun doing, especially when playing with the monster effect (hence the name).
I had to add drums and base originally but these sounded awful to the piano and vocals I recorded audio so they´re not with us any longer...

Question: What song do I wish I would have written? Answer: This would be the one.
I´m in love with this song, and maybe even more in love with playing it. So this is kind of what sometimes happens when I don´t go to bed when I get home at 11PM. 
I recorded guitar and vocals at the same time so my deficiencies are all in there. 
A huge thanks to the one and only Jordan Kerr who was prepared to help me mix it at 3AM, he did a great job!

All I Want (Cover)

So here I present to you the result of an assignment I had to do in my Vocal singing ensemble, which means that everything you hear in this track, although processed with effects, is made by my voice. No midi tracks or instruments other than voice. I chose to do this song mainly caused I´m obsessed with the song (this is a cover of the landlady remix) and whatever music Amelia makes. The music of her previous trio Mountain man continues to inspire me more than anything else and Sylvan Esso is a cool sequel. 

I´ve spent a lot of time working on this project cause it was so fun to do, and someone who was of tremendous help (setting aside time to help me despite all the stress from it being the end of the semester) was my sweet friend Armando Gonzalez. He contributed a lot to the mixing of this project and I learnt so much about it while working on it with him. 

I realized as I had recorded all the vocals that one phrase had incorrect lyrics (as I´d been singing to some lyrics I found online without double checking)but I decided to stick with it cause I thought it was quite a cute mistake/error.

"Formal" Backstory:

The American "Gun law loophole” makes it possible for anyone to buy a gun at a gun show. Under federal law, private-party sellers are not required nor permitted to perform background checks on buyers. Neither are they required to record the sale, or ask for identification. 

Not everyone is sane enough to realize that murder is wrong, and with this loophole we loose lives we could´ve saved by changing the law.

In the midst of all perfection I want to release something I find to be imperfect, but perfect in it's own way. I'll save the perfectionism for the actual recording.
A midi keyboard sounds nothing like a grand piano (even if Logic says Steinway Grand Piano. And what's even worse is that I lack mixing skills to make it sound better. But that's fine, it would kill the purpose anyways. This is a demo I recorded so that this song of mine can be produced for the album I have in the works. I don't know how much will be added to the production. I'm guessing strings, but you never know with me, I'm all about excessiveness. 
The song is about family relationships and mental illness. Or mental illness and family relationships. I don't know what order to put it in. It's swaying, it's repetitive, it's accepting.
