For the debut release on Midas, Mak & Pasteman come through with two no-nonsense dancefloor slammers that echo the raw energy of their early work on Lobster Boy.

"UFOz" is quintessential Mak & Pasteman — a sharp, modern UK garage banger driven by crisp percussion, rolling low-end, and a hypnotic vocal cut that wouldn’t feel out of place resonating from a scoop stack at SUBDUB back in Leeds.

On the flip, "Alright" strips things back for a more introspective moment. It's a deep, emotionally-charged roller that balances soul with grit — a track that hits just as hard in the headphones as it does in the club.

"Whipz" is a bandcamp exclusive, the first tune Mak & Pasteman made together after a five year hiatus, sparking the return to their roots, the start of their label Midas and a slew of bangers for the heads.

Mak & Pasteman return to Midas for its second release, this time stepping out under a new alias, Echosystem, alongside long-time friend and collaborator Arkive.

The project blends Mak & Pasteman’s rugged, club-focused production with Arkive’s melodic touch, carving out a sound that moves between light and dark with sharp precision.

Lead track “Drifting” pulls from across the electronic spectrum, balancing tension and release with emotive synth work and driving, body-moving rhythms. “Juniper” ups the energy with breakbeats and haunting vocals, a thread running through the EP, while “Forest” closes things out on a deeper, more introspective tip, a stripped-back roller that’s equal parts weighty and hypnotic.
