Backstabber

Liverpool’s Andy Ash has been releasing finely crafted, authentic house music for a number of labels over the past few years, including appearances on StilLove4Music, Kolour and Quintessentials. 

Here he joins Steve Bug’s Dessous imprint and drops some of his best work yet - four slices of deep and raw house grooves. 

'Workin' shares a little headspace with that other Liverpudlian pioneer, John Heckle - emotionally uplifting electronic music that keeps things rough round the edges. 
'Mindflow' references the classic sound of Chicago in the early 90s, a disco/funk vocal sample interplays with tightly woven percussion and an ever present bump - Mr. Ash clearly knows a thing or two about moving dance floors.

'Release and Check' makes up the remainder of the EP - one track split over 2 parts. Both parts are deep, rolling jams with live sounding keys, and a highly effective acidic bassline which send the whole to several both groovy and euphoric moments.

When it comes to a certain strand of deep house, Tsuba is unstoppable at the moment. The label has just revealed they've secured an EP from the much-loved Galcher Lustwerk, but before that they're debuting Luvless with the Luv Machine EP. Fans of Mic Newman's music on Tsuba will warm to this with tracks like "Down With You Baby" sharing that same laid-back vibe heard in some of the Australian's earlier productions, while its soft vocals are similar to fellow Melbourne producer The Tortoise. "Be Mine" is driven by a strong sustained lead with sprinklings of disco drums and basslines with some classic filtering, while the title-track is a deep, yet light, euphoric house jam.

The label freshly celebrated its 2nd birthday and label head & ambassador Dairmount selected already the 5th episode of his acclaimed Perspectives serie. Always proposing brand new exclusive tracks with a serious flair of freshness, this episode is not disappointing.

Strong of his recent remixes for Fred Everything's Lazy Days & The Revenge's Instrument Of Rapture, Art Of Tones is featured here with "Too Much", a track that became already a prime favorite of people as diverse as Dj Sneak, Jimpster, Joey Negro or Kink. Dairmount invited also his Bay Area friend alland Byallo to join the dance. The US producer, today relocated in Berlin & reknown for his work on Pokerflat, Dirt Crew, Liebe Detail or his own Nighlight Music, contributed with a smasher called Stern Soul, a straight forward peaktime soul infused rocker.

A little jump in time broring us then in 97 with Know Things, this Jeff Sharel track included here. This track has been released 14 years ago quite confidentially and has remained in the box of Dairmount since then, This brought him to wish to introduce it to a much larger audiance more than a decade later.One of the most underrated producers of the French Touch era is also showing here how solid this could stand beside early prods of La Funk Mob or Pepe Bradock.

In one rebound, Dairmount travelled to derby in UK to introduce the talent of Christo who signed here a beatiful hybrid detroit influenced Afrotech tune with New Jazzno. Keep an eye on his classy Superficially Deep imprint! 
And finally, the Ep closes with an original new rendition of the Dairmount & berardi's classic Bass-ment Tale by the mighty Audio Soul Project, creator of the chicagoan Fresh Meat and known for his work on NRK.

Amsterdam based House head Nachtbraker made his first appearance on "Apparel Music" and on Detroit Swindle's infamous HEIST recordings earlier this year with his fantastic "Gute Laune" EP. We are very pleased to welcome him to our Dirt Crew family and to release his new record.

Being best known for his smooth and deep production with jazzy and soulful elements he also added these ingredients carefully in these 4 new tracks. The opening track „Alright“ has this great cathy piano hook that progresses though the whole track and gives us that sweet old school House feeling, absolutely funky as hell and a standout track that will have you run to the booth to check what the hell it is... unique in every way.

The second track „Braun“ takes us to rougher and more bouncing Hip Hop like beats with spaced out sounds and great Detroit-ish chord progressions. The title track „Janus“ is the true Gem of this release, slow and funky with a tasty Bass Line that gets you moving like crazy once it drops. The whole track teases and teases until it finally opens up to House heaven in the latter part of the track. Last on this wonderful EP is the elegant „Warme Kachel“ or should we say „Hot Oven“ haha.. well the sound is in the title, a very warm and cosy little piece that gets you in the right mood for some heated party action.. either way as warm up track or cool down closing song this beauty will set the right mood for sure.

Future Times is very pleased to introduce this killer 12" to the globe, a serious disc by JACK J. His 12" for Mood Hut last year flipped many wigs and this 12" is further proof that the dude is full-fledged. "Thirstin'" takes the day-in-the-life quintessence of "Something (On My Mind)" even farther, using his voice to beautify the sparkling, spaced track. The B-Side "Atmosphère" is just as mighty, as Jack channels a velvet Patrick Adams vibe in this gorgeous instrumental, the pianos in particular take the song to a galactic place. Both tracks feel like you could live inside them, each as good for walking around This Life chillin' as they are for the party. Essential Summer Music.

The man that represents the deeper side of Amsterdam house is back on Dirt Crew. His last outing on Detroit Swindle’s “Heist Recordings”, the “Le Troubadour EP” was another fine example of that laid back funky deep house only Nachtbraker can squeeze out.

Settling into the groove immediately is ‘Hump’, bouncing chords and a warbling Rhodes lead into an irresistible bass line. The title track, ‘Backstabber’ hits right in the hips, a chugging feel good work out for the dance floor. The flip remains true to the flavor of this whole EP, offering up a massive speaker rattling bottom end and funk flavored keys on ’Time Is Of The Essence’, while ’Monday Mourning’ steps up with expertly cut disco samples, an effervescent excursion with a jazzy lead and a touch of vocoder for good measure. The release is rounded out with digi only offering ‘Yaaa’, a sub driven deep house work out, boasting swelling loops and hypnotic percussion.

Nachtbraker’s sharp sense of harmony and knack for vibe is ever present throughout this whole release, he has truly fine tuned his sound to a perfect balance of unbounded energy and stylish musicianship. We are happy to welcome him back on Dirt Crew with this classy release.

Fenou #17 is the first collaboration of Powel & Lake People aka Lake Powel. This wonderful symbiosis created two really charming tracks. With its melodious feel of late summer atmosphere these tracks exude charm to unwind and relax, just right for this time of year.
Now, two fantastic remixes follow the limited 10“ vinyl release. The title track has been re-shaped by Acid Pauli & NU, while Mira & Chris Schwarzwaelder got their hands on the B side „More Or Less“.
