Ops is an actor, visual artist, DJ and music producer. He is part of Criolina crew, that since 2005 produce, research and promote culture in Brazil's capital. O Norte do Sul EP is his first solo release.

With his ears opened to the new sounds from the north of the south hemisphere, the EP brings the groove from the brazilian north and northeast and presents a sound that refers to the early history of electronic music, the soundtrack of the first video games and sci-fi movies.

Both the instrumental music from the north and northeast of Brazil and the first experiments with synthesizers, feature loops of melodic patterns. In lambada, guitarrada and baião, who leads the arrangement are the riffs of rabecas, sanfonas, pífanos, guitars and brass. Role that in the electronic music is played by the arpeggios. Aware of this, Ops transported Brazilian themes to the dancefloor universe, in a eletro-tropical atmosphere.

In addition to Brazilian and Caribbean rhythms, You can notice the influence of African music, especially from Angola -like Zouk and Kizomba - which he acquired during the time he lived in Lisbon, where he produced O Norte do Sul EP.

With the label Frente Bolivarista, known for promoting the new Latin American music, the EP also features remixes of  he producers Señor Chancho, Tropikal Ravers and El Búho.

En el año 2001, Marco Lujan empieza a experimentar con softwares influenciado por la musica electronica de los 80s y 90s como The Shamen, Aphex Twin, Prodigy, 808 State y Future Sound of London entre muchos otros artistas que pudo conocer a principios de los noventas gracias a programas de radio y TV como Ozono de MTV, La Hora Techno en Doble Nueve, tambien 2001 de Helene Ramos, Top of The Pops, Multitrack entre otros programas de la BBC que transmitia Radio Miraflores, tambien Freeway y Audioficcion por esa misma emisora
Hacia finales del 2004 empieza a producir musica con equipos propios y comienza a enviar demos a Netlabels, luego de un tiempo exactamente el 26 de junio del 2005 presentó un demo en el programa de musica underground 2001 Mil años despues , el tema que se escucho al aire por primera vez fue «Estrella Del Norte» en el aniversario numero 16 del programa, un tema en onda ambient drum n’ bass, durante el año 2005 se escucharon varios temas que estarian incluidos en su primer album Sonorama.
Sonorama es elegido como album del año y el tema Los Balcones como el track del año 2005.

Based in Berlin, Eck Echo have been a platform for different forms of diffusing Latin culture heritage. Recently, they showcased the tropical electronic music scene in the German city on their Berlin – Tropisches Tor documentary, while also showing the influence of Latin music in other corners of Europe.

Now we have their first release as a label, a vinyl album with two remixes of the cult Peruvian band Los Shapis. The first of the two, is a joint effort by digital cumbia icon Tribilin Sound and Bareto guitarist Rolo Gallardo, and the second one is from the Berlin-based Los Wawis.

Both versions add layers of modern sound to the original tracks, but also respect the chicha sound that has conquered music fans worldwide, making it an essential to a respectable Latin contemporary album collection.

The Valley Mashes is now available on Bandcamp and via the Sounds and Colours shop.
