Open Air am Berg | Eichstätt | 2022

WeichnesS invites the listeners to enter their personal sanctuary of softness, peace and bliss.The loopbased lo-fi and analog sound collages with their crackles and noises, are meant to comfort and stimulate in a soft and mellow kind, flowing slowly through time and space, with an edge of sentimentalism. The set - consisting of original music only - melts together sounds of field recordings, bass guitar, nature, percussions, synthesizers and other instruments and includes working with unorthodox playing-styles, e.g. bowing the electric bass, as well as the usage of effects such as a resonator and delays. It features collaborations with artists, e.g. Margaux, Joa Luna, ju ray'm and Kim, as well as the saxophonist Julian Bossert and is highly influenced by Jan Jelinek, E/tape and Brnjsmin. WeichnesS is highly inspired by Elisa Cucinelli's collective gatherings "Weich" in Berlin.

THE BODY

A sound born of shadows and steel. This piece evokes a calming yet mystical atmosphere, crafted from resonances captured on metallic sculptures. Whispering textures and floating harmonies intertwine to form a hymn-like echo of hidden realms.

The Call

This piece is a first take on the completely free Spitfire Audio library "SSO Discover". Since it's free, the samples are partially crippled but hey, the quality of the sounds is quite outstanding. Here, I experimented with the short notes of the string part and developed a simplistic symphonic song structure.

Dancing On A String

Om (also spelled Aum) is a Hindu sacred sound that is considered the greatest of all mantras. The syllable Om is composed of the three sounds a-u-m (in Sanskrit, the vowels a and u combine to become o) and the symbol’s threefold nature is central to its meaning. It represent several important triads:

– The three worlds – earth, atmosphere, and heaven

– The three major Hindu gods – Brahma, Vishnu, and Siva

– The three sacred Vedic scriptures – Rg, Yajur, and Sama

Thus Om mystically embodies the essence of the entire universe. This meaning is further deepened by the Indian philosophical belief that God first created sound and the universe arose from it. As the most sacred sound, Om is the root of the universe and everything that exists and it continues to hold everything together.

Mitschnitt von "Gut", einem Stück was mir sehr am Herzen liegt. Es handelt von dem Gefühl zu merken, dass ein Verlust nicht unbedingt einen Beziehungsabbruch zu einem wichtigen Menschen bedeutet. Durch die Trauer schimmert Hoffnung und die Liebe verbindet über den Tod hinaus.
